CFES PTO News

The Chadds Ford Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization (CFES PTO) is excited for this school year! The PTO will be sending biweekly updates with events and information. Further information can always be found at https://cfes.ucfsd.org/pto.

The CFES PTO will hold PTO "In The Know" meetings the second Wednesday of each month and all CFE parents and guardians are welcome to attend.

*The first meeting will be Wednesday, September 11 at 6:30 PM.*

Join us at Hangry Bear Creamery in Kennett, and learn about our role in the school and district, and the many events and activities we plan for the students, teachers and staff at Chadds Ford.

Superintendent John Sanville will also be there to discuss considerations to renovate or rebuild our middle school.

One winner will be chosen and announced in our next newsletter and we will show off all your submissions!

All photos will be considered for the First Day of School segment of this year's yearbook.

Photos should only include CFES students and staff.

We are so excited for our 4th annual Fall Festival at Ramsey's Farm!

This is a private event for CFES families only to kick off the Fall Spirit.

We are so fortunate to provide amazing events and experiences for our students and staff. However, these events and experiences cannot run themselves, and we have a shortage of volunteers to help plan them. We desperately need volunteers to be able to provide the events above, and we especially need volunteer involvement from our K-2 families, as many of our regular volunteers will be ‘graduating’ with their 5th graders. Most committees only need ~1 hour a week, and have a finite duration of 1-2 months leading up to an event, and every committee has direct support from the PTO Board. No prior experience is necessary! For our non-fundraising events, if we do not secure a planning committee (at least two people) 60 days before the event, we will have to cancel it.

As we begin the 2024-2025 school year, we are seeking applicants for our Homeroom Parent positions. The role of Homeroom Parent is one that can be truly enriching to your child’s and his or her classmates’ school experience.

The selection of Homeroom Parents for each classroom will be made randomly by the PTO after receiving all applications. Classes typically need two homeroom parents to easily distribute the responsibilities. A drawing will be used if more names are submitted than are needed. You will be notified if you have been selected for this position.

If you feel you are able to meet the requirements and take on the responsibilities of the Homeroom Parent position and you are interested in being considered for your child’s classroom, please sign up using this link by Friday, September 6, 2024.

These presentations are always extremely valuable to parents, and we highly recommend you try to attend those that are relevant to you, or will be relevant in years to come.
