April 2024
Our new gates are working fully!
We hope that you have had a lovely Easter break, it's great to have the children back at school for the Summer term.
Our new gates are in operation for:
- breakfast club
- during the school day
- after school ECAs
- childcare up to 4.15pm
Parents for after school childcare are asked to still use the Clarkes Avenue entrance after 4.15pm - just in case the children are playing outside. The new system is not yet connected to our mobile phone system, we expect it to be connected over the May half term.
Double gates to prevent tailgating
When entering via the Yellow gates you will pass through a second gate near the offices. You will need to press the 'bell' button again, staff will then check on the cameras that you have not permitted another person into the double gate area who has not been announced.
It is vital that all persons entering the school are authorised. If someone follows you into the double gate area please ask them to speak to the office team as well. This could be another school visitor, a postal delivery or food delivery for example. The second gate will open once we are sure we know who we are letting on to our site.
You will notice a new gate near the offices, this is to guide all our visitors into the office area during the school day. It prevents visitors from walking around the school site without permission. We also have another gate to gain access to the playground, this will be locked for most of the school day, securing the site from the front.
Nursery and Reception blue gates
Parents for these year groups can enter and exit via the blue gates. If leaving once the gates are closed, please let yourself out - make sure to use the latch on the inner gate and to close the blue gate behind you. Use the green push button to exit. Parents from Nursery and Reception will not be able to exit via the front playground or yellow gate once staff have closed the gates at the start or end of the school day.
The intercom has a video camera to help us identify our visitors and we have added even more cameras to help us secure our entrances.
We hope that you appreciate the additional security that is in place for the whole school community, we need to work together that the new security systems work effectively.
Thanks for all your patience during the past year, we have waited a long time for the gates to gain approval and be replaced.
Best wishes for the summer term!
