Message from Mr. Hamacher
Good evening, Liberty Middle School Parents.
The CHS administration is inviting all 8th grade parents to an 8th grade parent information meeting to share the new Indiana Diploma Requirements. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at 6pm in the CHS Auditorium.
The CHS administration will be presenting information pertaining to the new Indiana Diploma Requirements that will go into effect for the Class of 2029. Principal Brent Martinson, Associate Principal Kristen Peterson, and Assistant Principal Tiffany Hawkins will be explaining the details of what these new requirements will look like and mean to your student as they enter high school.
Current 8th grade students will begin their high school scheduling process with the high school counselors visiting the DSC middle schools the week of February 18-21, and Discovery and St. Pat’s on February 25. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Brent Martinson, Principal at 219-983-3730 x 7102.
Reminder: Report cards will be available to parents and students in Skyward on January 14 at 4:00 p.m.
Next week, our 8th grade students will take the ILEARN Checkpoints 2 for English/Language Arts on Tuesday, January 14. As a reminder, this is just a pilot that we are doing in preparation for when the state officially begins using them. The pilot gives us all valuable experience in administering the test and planning the logistics for remediation between attempts.
Our online fan store is open with all kinds of LMS spirit wear and accessories! Items will be added periodically throughout the year and the store will remain open all year. Find the link below for all of the details!
Make sure to check out the LMS Student Announcements that are linked below! The students put a lot of work into it and do a great job!
Respectfully,
Mike Hamacher, LMS Principal

A Message From Nurse Sam
As part of our commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all our students, we want to inform you about an important update regarding students who are injured and wearing medical devices such as walking boots, crutches, casts, slings, or splints. Effective immediately, any student with a medical device will be required to provide a doctor’s note confirming that they are cleared to participate in both gym class and recess. If a doctor advises against participation for any specified duration, the student will need to provide a subsequent note from the doctor clearing the student to resume these activities once they are healed.
This update is designed to ensure that all students can safely engage in physical activities while also considering their health and recovery. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please do not hesitate to reach out to the Health Clinic. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
