Community Crew News # 18
December 20, 2024
December 20, 2024
Greetings Conway Community,
As an Expeditionary Learning school, our staff Crew is committed to fostering joy, celebrating students' character development, and building a culture in which staff and students work together to become effective learners and ethical people. There is an explicit commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our students and staff take in active role in maintaining many of our traditions and reflect a culture of community, respect, and joy in learning. This was seen across our campus throughout our week. From the Elf antics around campus, grade level singing performances, and our band performance, to name a few, our school was alive with laughter and joy.
As we approach the winter holiday break, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your continued support and partnership throughout this year. Together, we have navigated challenges, celebrated achievements, and fostered a vibrant learning community for our learners. This time of year offers us all a wonderful opportunity to reflect, embrace the joy of the season, and spend precious moments with our families.
Please remember that the winter break is not only a time for rest but also an opportunity for students to explore their interests, whether through reading, engaging in creative projects, or simply enjoying the beauty of the season.
We all look forward to welcoming our students back on Tuesday, January 7th, 2025 refreshed and ready for the new year ahead. Until then, I wish you and your family a joyful and peaceful holiday season!
In crew,
Tina Meglich
Principal

Attendance Matters!
Attendance Matters at Conway!
We want to remind families that it is very important for students to come to school EVERY DAY.
Reminders!
Good school attendance means that elementary students will read well by the end of third grade.
Middles schoolers will pass important courses.
High Schoolers will stay on track for graduation.
College students will earn their degrees.
workers will succeed in their jobs.
Too many absences-excused or unexcused can keep students from succeeding in school and in life.
How many are too many?
10% of the school year can knock students off track. -- That's 18 missed days or 2 days a month.
Helping our students build these habits will only help prepare their future for success!
Together we can get smart to do good in the world!
Remember... ATTEND TODAY AND ACHIEVE TOMORROW!!!
