Family Newsletter
April 1, 2025
Dear MMS Families,
As we enter the final quarter of the school year and welcome the arrival of spring, we want to take a moment to express our gratitude for your ongoing support. This month brought many fun events and learning experiences for our students, including our recent March Madness pep rally.
In this newsletter you will find examples of these learning experiences, photos from March Madness, news about our upcoming Drama Club production, opportunities for our young musicians to audition for Jazz Band, and important announcements about Spring Sports.
We are proud of the hard work our students are putting in to demonstrate their learning. With the upcoming break, we hope everyone gets a chance to relax and recharge for the final push of the school year.
Thank you for being a vital part of our school community!
Sincerely,
Kelly Grantham, Principal
Amy Troiano, Assistant Principal

🎠Drama Club ðŸŽ
The MMS Drama Club would like to announce their spring play, The Internet Is a Distract -- OH LOOK A KITTEN! Micah only has twenty minutes to finish his paper on The Great Gatsby. He just needs to check a few facts on the internet first. Unfortunately, the web is a nefariously wacky place where boxing cats, Facebook lurkers, and baby-throwing games threaten to take over Micah's schoolwork, or worse. Will he finish his paper and escape with his life before the school bell rings? Come find out on April 11, 12, and 13 at MMS!
Class Spotlights 🔦
Grade 7 Social Studies
Students in 7th grade social studies created some amazing dioramas of Jamestown and Plymouth Colonies as a part of their Colonial America Choice Board Project! They began by researching their chosen colony, made a blueprint for their design, compiled a materials list, constructed their colonies out of various materials, and created labels or a key to represent the elements shown in their completed dioramas. Excellent effort by all!

Messages from MMS Band Teacher Mr. Laciano
1. Do you play Piano, Guitar, Bass or Drumset? Are you looking for a way to use your talents at MMS? Consider auditioning for the MMS Jazz Bands! No prior jazz experience is necessary. If you are interested, stop by the band room and talk to Mr. Laciano and pick up your audition music. Sign ups are on the band room door and will occur during school April14-17. Please note, this is for students who already play one of these instruments....we do not teach these instruments in this class. Please email with any questions: daniellaciano@rsu57.org
2. MMS Band Spring Band Concert is Tuesday, May 13th for 6th, 7th, 8th and Jazz Band! We are working extra hard and can't wait to see you all for this amazing performance!
MMS March Madness Pep Rally!
To celebrate the end of March and the beginning of the 4th quarter of the school year, MMS hosted a March Madness Pep Rally on Friday, March 28. Students representing all teams participated in fun challenges, like a cup stacking competition (with oven mitts), a mummy wrap of a team teacher, a balloon challenge and a wacky relay race! What a great, energetic and fun way to head into the weekend after a long month of learning and growth!
