Principal's Corner
The end of October has arrived!
We will be celebrating Halloween tomorrow, and details were sent to elementary parents yesterday. A special shout-out goes to our SAVY students for planning the annual pie-throwing festivities and organizing the parade. We truly appreciate their leadership!
Collaboration Day – Wednesday, November 1st
On November 1st, our staff will participate in a Collaboration Day. There will be no classes for students that day. During this time, we will review our school data in literacy and numeracy, identifying strengths and targeting areas for improvement.
End of the First Quarter – PowerSchool Reminder
As we approach the end of the first quarter, we encourage students and parents to check PowerSchool regularly for updated marks and comments. This is especially important for literacy and numeracy in elementary grades, as well as core subjects in secondary classes. Please contact us if you experience any issues accessing PowerSchool.
Winter Weather Reminder
Winter has arrived quickly this year! Please remind your child—regardless of age—to dress appropriately for the weather. We will continue going outside for recess throughout the winter, so it is essential that students are prepared. Our guideline is -25°C (including windchill) to determine whether recess will be held inside or outside.
Bus riders should also have proper winter gear in case of an emergency that requires them to stay outside. Thank you for ensuring your child is equipped for winter conditions!
New Student Handbook Available
We would also like to inform families that our new student handbook is now available on the school website. It contains important information about our school and how we operate.
Breakfast Club Update
Our Breakfast Club remains an important service for our students. A big thank you to Amber Erickson and Kierstan Reber for volunteering their time and baking for the program. If any families have bananas to donate, it would be greatly appreciated! Additionally, if you are interested in contributing baked goods, please reach out to us—we’d love the extra help!
Drop-off Time and Supervision
As the weather gets colder, we ask that families drop students off at 8:35 a.m., when our doors open and supervision begins. This ensures students aren't waiting outside in the cold for extended periods.
Fall Break – November 11th-15th
A reminder that Fall Break is next week, with no classes from November 11th-15th. We hope you have a wonderful break, and we look forward to welcoming students back on November 18th!
As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to connect with us at the school.

Parking Reminders
Thank you to all of our drivers who have been mindful of ensuring that our bus drivers have enough space to park each morning and afternoon now that we have four buses. We kindly ask that all drivers are careful not to park in the crosswalk on the east and west sides of the street in front of the school. This area needs to be kept safe for our young students that are crossing the road to get to the school. Thank you for your attention to this.

If you are interested in supporting our pizza sales, you can reach out to a Sr. High Student, call the school, or visit pizzakit.ca using the fundraiser ID# 444660.

Please get online orders wrapped up and bring in person orders to Mrs. Tobler by the end of Thursday!

No Stone Left Alone
On Monday our Grade 9 class participated in our annual No Stone Left Alone Ceremony along with our local Legion members. Students were able to place a poppy on the grave sites of local veterans from our Daysland area. It is a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by soldiers past and present. We are grateful that our Legion members can help provide us this opportunity.
