Nick and Helena Patti Foundation Scholarship 2024
Description:
The Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans (JCCIA) is proud to offer – from the Nicholas and Helena Patti Foundation Scholarship Fund-- scholarships that are awarded to persons of Italian parentage for assistance in music or education for college students who are orphans or who were raised in foster homes. Preference for scholarship awards may be given to students studying music in college beyond the freshman level. However, scholarships can be awarded for other fields of study. Preference for scholarship awards may also be given to those individuals who have been orphaned and wish to pursue their personal and professional goals of attending college. The scholarship is merit-based for students, taking into consideration the combination of academic achievement and talent.
Eligibility:
Primary consideration is given to music majors, but other applicants are considered and encouraged to apply. Competitive students should have a strong academic background, musical talent (if applied towards music major), demonstrated leadership ability, commitment to serving their Italian-American community, and a resident of the State of Illinois. Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic merit, talent, quality of their Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans (JCCIA) Application, commitment to their education, intended degree area, and/or other relevant factors.

2024 Boyk Law Veteran Scholarship
Description:
The Ohio Personal Injury lawyers of Charles E. Boyk Law Offices, LLC are pleased to announce the 2024 Boyk Law Veteran Scholarship for college students.
The scholarship was created as part of Boyk Law’s continued commitment to the servicemembers of the United States Armed Forces and their continuing education. The 2024 Boyk Law Veteran Scholarship will award $2,000 to a student currently attending an accredited college or university, who has either served in the Armed Forces or is the child of a US Veteran.
It is the 7th year we are offering the Boyk Law Veteran Scholarship. This award is near and dear to our hearts. We hope this scholarship can bring hope to those struggling to pay for their education and encourage students to continue pursuing their educational goals.

Eligibility:
- The applicant has served in the United States Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, or Reserves OR is the child or stepchild of a veteran.
- The applicant is a U.S. citizen currently attending an accredited college or university within the United States.
- Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and have completed at least one semester of classes at an accredited college or university.

Linda Thompson Memorial Scholarship
Description:
The Linda Thompson Memorial Scholarship (LTMS) honors Linda Thompson, who was a vital part of the Destination Management Company (DMC) profession and event industry. She was an owner of Cappa and Graham, Inc. in San Francisco, CA and a vital part of the DMC Network. Linda dedicated herself to mentoring young professionals and raising the level of excellence in the DMC industry.
Eligibility:
Applications are accepted from individuals throughout the world who are preparing for a career in Destination Management. The length of the program must be one year or longer. Two scholarships may be awarded: one to a North American student and one to a global student.
Need to Submit:
Application (found on sponsor website) and Résumé
Letter of Recommendation from either a college/university professor or a professional in the event industry
Essay (minimum 250 words) covering the following topics:
Interest in and/or knowledge of the Destination Management/Event Management industry.
Focus of your studies and goals.
Details of your volunteer and extra-curricular activities
How receiving this scholarship will help you achieve your stated goals.
A recent event you attended and what enhancement(s) you could implement to make it more special.
For Extra Credit - Provide a 45 - 60 second video introducing yourself and sharing why you want to work in the Destination Management industry.

Regeneron Science Talent Search Scholarship
Description:
Regeneron STS is the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science competition for high school seniors, providing an important forum for original research that is recognized and reviewed by a national jury of professional scientists. Alumni have made extraordinary contributions to science and have earned many of the world’s most distinguished science and math honors, including thirteen Nobel Prizes. Annually, nearly 2,000 high school seniors from around the country accept the challenge of conducting independent science, math or engineering research and completing an entry for the Regeneron Science Talent Search. The competition recognizes 300 student scholars and their schools each year and invites 40 student finalists to Washington, D.C. to participate in final judging, display their work to the public, and meet with notable scientists and government leaders. Each year, Regeneron STS scholars and finalists compete for $3.1 million in awards.

- Any student who is enrolled in and attending his or her last year of secondary school in the U.S. and its territories may apply.
- Only independent, individual research is eligible.

Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Competition
Description:
Our scholarship programs are for undergraduate study only. A student may not receive more than one Elks National Foundation scholarship award or grant in any one academic year.
The scholarship awards (except EEG) are evidenced by a Certificate of Award issued by the Chicago office of the Elks National Foundation. All checks are paid directly to the school; under no circumstance can we make payment directly to the student.
Scholarship awards may be used for cost of attendance expenses. In order to receive payment, a student must have the school send to our Chicago office the completed Verification of Enrollment form, whereupon, we will issue our check, payable to the school, and mail it directly to the school to establish a credit in the name of the student. We will notify the student when we mail the check.
Eligibility:
You must be a current high school senior. High school graduates are not eligible.
You must be a citizen of the United States on the date your application is submitted; permanent legal resident status does not qualify.
You do not have to be a member (or the dependent of a member) of the Elks to qualify.
Award: $1,000 - $7,500 per year Deadline: November 12, 2024 at 11:59 p.m., Pacific Time.
James Alan Cox Foundation Scholarship For Student Photojournalists
Details:
Must be at least a high school sophomore or older and have taken at least one photography or related art class. College or technical applicants must have completed at least one year at a recognized college, university or professional school and have taken courses in photography or photojournalism. Graduate students can apply if they are enrolled in a journalism or photojournalism program.
Submit: Completed application, 250 word essay, 2 letters of reference, school transcript, financial data, and your portfolio (5 images or 2 videos).
Award: $2,500

Michigan Tech Leading Scholar Award
Essay Question for Fall 2025 Applicants:
- Write a one page essay response (3,000 character maximum including spaces) on the following topic: Leaders have the ability to ask outstanding questions that make people think and inspire action. What question do you feel you should answer for this scholarship application? Tell us your question, and provide your answer—be sure to draw on your leadership experience or include your future leadership goals in your response. There is no wrong answer (or question), so have fun—and don't be afraid to think outside the box.
Eligibility:
Academically talented high school seniors with leadership experience are encouraged to apply. In general, applicants should meet the following academic guidelines:
- 3.30 or higher cumulative GPA at time of application (on a 4.00 scale)
Finalists will be selected based on acceptance status, essay, and involvement.
Award: $2,000/year up to full tuition

Odenza Marketing Group Scholarship
Description:
Applicants must write two essays. Every essay must contain three essential elements.
1. The essay must provide a thesis statement (in the introductory paragraph). The thesis statement must encapsulate the main argument for the paper. It must be clear and coherent, and it must answer the question that has been put forth on the application.
2. The essay must offer supporting evidence. The writer must provide the supporting evidence in paragraph (not "bullet" or list) form. Each paragraph must contain evidence that supports one idea or concept that proves the thesis statement. The writer must provide citations (in footnote, endnote, or paranthetical form) for all evidence presented.
3. Every essay must follow basic rules of format and grammar. Every paper must contain a beginning (introductory paragraph), a middle (several supporting paragraphs that comprise the body of the paper), and an end (concluding paragraph). Grammar is vital for essay composition. Sentence fragments, misspellings, and improper punctuation denote a carelessly-written and poorly-conceived paper.
Eligibility:
To be considered eligible for the Odenza Marketing Group Fall Scholarship you must:
Be between the ages of 16 and 25 on the deadline date
Submit answers to the essay questions, which can be found on the application page, prior to the November 15, 2023 deadline.
Have at least one full year of post-secondary studies remaining at the time of the award
Have a GPA of 2.5 or greater.
Be a citizen of the United States or Canada

Jack Kent Cooke College Scholarship Program
Eligibility:
- Graduate from a U.S. high school in spring 2024
- Intend to enroll full time in an accredited four-year college beginning in fall 2024
- Earn a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above
- Demonstrate unmet financial need. We will consider applicants with family annual gross income up to $95,000. During the selection process, the Foundation will conduct a full financial review which will take into account all income and assets of the student and the student’s parents.
Award: Up to $55,000 per year

Maryknoll Essay Contest
Eligibility:
Students in grades 6–8 (Division I) and grades 9–12 (Division II) who are currently enrolled in a Catholic school or Catholic religious education program are eligible.
Essay Theme:
For the Jubilee next year Pope Francis has invited us to become “pilgrims of hope.” Share a personal story about a time when hope played an important role in your life. Describe the situation, how you felt, and what gave you hope during that time. Explain how this experience impacted you and what you learned about the importance of hope.
Award: $150 - $1,000

Education Matters Scholarship
Description:
As a scholarship seeker, you're probably already well-aware of the importance of an education. But, what about the naysayers? Have you come across someone who's tried to talk you out of college, saying that it's not worth it?
While continuing your education takes time, and money, there's a certain value that everyone is hoping to achieve. Our Education Matters Scholarship is giving you the chance to state why education matters. Why does education matter to you? What is the value you hope to receive from college? What would you do to convince the college cynics?
Speaking up for education could lead to helping you pay for your own. One applicant will be awarded our $5,000 Education Matters Scholarship.
Submit an online written response to the question:
"What would you say to someone who thinks education doesn't matter, or that college is a waste of time and money?" (250 words or less)

ServiceScape Scholarship
Description:

Apply now to our 2024 Scholarship, which will be in the amount of $1,000.00 USD to be paid toward the educational certification/degree program of your choice. The chosen topic is as follows: How does writing impact today's world? Think about it, write about it, and let us know your thoughts.

Emery Reddy Legal Studies Scholarship
Description:
Our mission to help and empower workers extends beyond our commitment to help them with their L&I claims or employment or labor law matters and into the next generation, and we are proud to offer annual scholarships to empower students in pursuit of higher education. Emery | Reddy is offering its annual scholarships to law school and college undergraduate students.
Students must submit an original and compelling essay of 400 – 600 words answering the essay prompt below. Essays should follow a basic essay and paragraph format including an introduction with body paragraphs and a conclusion. Creativity is encouraged! Please avoid disclosing any personal identifying information (PII) such as name, address, contact information, or resume within the body of the essay.
Eligibility:
- Student must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident;
- Student must be currently enrolled in or recently accepted to an accredited U.S. law school (Legal Studies scholarship) or accredited U.S. college or university (Undergraduate scholarship);

Out to Protect Scholarship
Description:
Out to Protect seeks to create greater awareness of gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, and transgender individuals working within law enforcement, and to support those pursuing a law enforcement career.
Eligibility:
Applicants must:
identify as gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, or transgender.
be pursuing a career in law enforcement by putting themselves through a basic training program.
be currently enrolled in a basic law enforcement training program in the United States.
demonstrate being a visible, positive role model for law enforcement
Award: $1,000
Deadline: We accept applications for all four programs on a continuous basis and typically make awards in June and December.
