Busy Week 6!!
Week 6 has been super busy here at Stanley Ave, with Team Ruru in camp, Mr Byers in Wellington for most of the week, Team Tui Top Team event, and everyone working hard to keep things ticking along nicely at school.
A huge thank you to all the parents and whānau that have helped out, assisted and given so willingly of their time for each of these events. Teaching your children truly is a partnership between school and home.
We have another busy week again next week with 3 different events on:
Monday:- District Swimming Sports at Te Aroha College
Tuesday:- Piako World Cup Football Day at Boyd Park
Thursday:- Hockey Fun day out in Ngatea
Once again, parents give so freely of their time and vehicles to make these events possible and your support is greatly appreciated.

Danger
Crossing Stanley Avenue can be a difficult thing to do with the amount and speed of traffic driving along it each day.
It is important that if you are crossing Stanley Avenue to come to or leave the school, that whether you are with your children or not, please always use the crossing. NEVER cross by the carpark.
Also a huge thank you to those of you that remember to reduce your speed and some of you very kindly stop at the crossing and allow us to create a gap to get the children across safely. We do so appreciate you.
Week 6 Friendship Zone update
This week students were challenged to decorate fabric to be used as table cloths in the Friendship Zone. This proved to be very popular with all ages. We continue to have large numbers turning up to participate in the challenges. Well done everyone!

Purchase your Own New SAS Sports Shirt!
We have gone live on DirectGroup Uniforms with our new Sports Shirts that you are able to purchase. We feel moving forward this is a great option and will save a lot of time issuing and collecting sports shirts. At this time we still have our other sports shirts for anyone that is playing and has not purchased their own yet. Check them out at:
https://dgstore.co.nz/collections/stanley-avenue-school
You can purchase the sport shirts and they arrive directly to your address and they even have Afterpay so that it makes it possible to budget. We are looking forward to seeing these appearing on our sports fields.
Junior Netball 2024
Junior Netball (Years 1-8) will be held on Wednesdays after school in Term 2, again this year. If your child would like to play netball, and hasn't completed a form , please contact Kim at the school office office@stanleyave.school.nz or 07 8848479.
I am wanting to get numbers so as to make up teams for the older children and get Fun Ferns netball underway for the Year 1-4.
We will be having a Netball "Give it a go" day on the 3rd April from 4.30 to 6.30pm - so keep that date free. (There will be some super exciting guests along to help out!!!) We have some change of rules this year, so will be lots of learning for us all.
Netball is played on the Spur Street Courts which we are very excited to announce, will be resealed and ready to go by Term 2.
