Prospect Hill Academy Admissions Newsletter
Dear Prospective PHA Families!
Thank you for your interest in Prospect Hill Academy Charter School (PHA) for the 2025-2026 school year! We are excited to welcome you to the PHAmily and look forward to getting to know you over the coming months.
To that end, we will be hosting two Virtual Information Sessions and several Open Houses at our Early Childhood campus and High School in November and January. These events will allow you to meet school leaders and staff, learn more about PHA, and to ask any questions you or your child may have. Click here to RSVP.
The admissions lottery will take place on March 5, 2025 and applicants will be notified of their child’s admission status shortly thereafter.

A Joyful Fall Fest with the PHAmily
PHA held our annual Fall Fest this past Saturday, October 26th. PreK-12 students, families, teachers and staff enjoyed a breezy, beautiful fall day in the Early Childhood Campus school yard, with a bouncy house, arts & crafts, pumpkin and face painting, games, and delicious food and snacks.
Watch the recap video of the event here.
A Fun & Engaging STEAM Saturday Fall Session
Offerings included Lego Innovation with DEILab, Flour Power with iCook, Youtube Production and Weird Science TV with Cinemakidz, Science Lab with MIT SWE, and three PHA high school student-led courses: Community Art, Slime Time, and Movement Club.
Pathways to Medicine Club Explores Biomedical Research
On October 24th, a group of students from PHA's Pathways to Medicine club had the opportunity to learn more about biomedical research at the Whitehead Institute, where they explored the Weissman Lab with Postdoctoral Fellow, Tessa Bertozzi.
Students learned about genetic editing and its applications to the real world. Though not a conventional career in medicine, students were able to learn about the biomedical researchers who make new discoveries every day that inform the way doctors practice medicine. Thank you to Sharon Bright and the Whitehead Institute for hosting us.
The student-led Pathways to Medicine club has 42 members representing grade levels from 7-12. Says the club's founder, PHA senior Nysha Cimea, "Many students at PHA are interested in pursuing a career in the medical field but they don't have a platform to express that interest or become more exposed to the field. My club advocates for students who want to pursue medicine through attending events and activities related to healthcare, biology, research, etc."
Class of 2025 College Updates
To help our seniors finalize their upcoming college application plans, the entire class attended the Boston Area Charter Schools College Fair, held on October 3rd at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center.
On October 16th, our seniors participated in a college application bootcamp. Students spent the morning together in the cafeteria working to complete their college applications with the support of the College Counseling team.
