Principal's Message
Dear Chester Ronning School Community,
This time of year always offers an opportunity to reflect on the year we had. It was a great year and one filled with accomplishments. One that I would like to share - especially since the springtime months are very popular for field trips - is that Chester Ronning Students participated in over 75 field trips and presentations this year. It was a staff goal this year to broaden the off-campus and guest-led learning experiences offered to our students and did they ever deliver! Organizing for presenters to visit the school and putting field trips together requires a lot of additional work and I want to acknowledge these efforts from our staff members!
The end of the school year is also a time for gratitude and, as I just mentioned, I have so much gratitude for the team of educators who work tirelessly day-in and out to provide the best education possible for our students. I'd also like to express my gratitude to our entire school community - your continued support means so much to me and the rest of the staff and we appreciate that we can work together as a team for the betterment of our school. Thank you!
As a final note, I also want to take this opportunity to send off some very important members of our school community. As always, we have a group of Grade 5 students who are moving on to new schools and our entire staff wants to wish them all the very best. They have such bright futures and we know that they will go on to do some great things! We also have some changes on our staff and we are wishing three Educational Assistants - Mrs. Corbett, Ms. Klein, and Mrs. McDevitt - very fond farewells with great thanks for the tremendous work they did this year to support students in Kindergarten and Grade 1. Additionally, there are several teachers who will not be returning to CRS next year. Staff fixtures, Mrs. Anderson and Mrs. Stuber are retiring at the end of June and, while we are most certainly going to feel their absence next year, we wish them the absolute best in their upcoming adventures! Miss Coyle and Mrs. Skoglund will complete their temporary assignments in a couple weeks as well. We are so appreciative of the fine work they have done in Gr. 2 and Kindergarten, respectively, and we know their futures in education are very bright! The entire CRS staff wishes the absolute best for these seven amazing educators!
As always, a new school year will deliver new students, new staff, new friendships, new opportunities and new experiences. The odd challenge will inevitably be mixed in there too, just to keep us on our toes and to help us to learn and grow! First though, students and staff have a well-deserved summer to enjoy! Please enjoy the opportunities that summer provides to be rejuvenated by your loved ones and a change of pace. I hope everyone who is returning to CRS in the fall comes rested and ready to learn!

8:00 am - Outdoor supervision of students begins
8:15 am - School Starts; Please do your best to have students here on time.
10:05 am - Morning recess
11:20 am - 12:00 pm - Lunch Break
1:45 pm - Afternoon Recess
3:00 pm - Dismissal
There will be no early dismissals this year.
