FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Father Doyle Families,
The 2021-2022 school year has officially come to a close!
Undoubtedly, we have concluded this year in a much different place than we started. In September of 2021, students and staff were wearing masks, large gatherings were largely untenable, and quarantines were a regular - and disruptive! - occurrence. Fast forward eight months, and students are no longer required to wear masks, we celebrated our Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and 8th Grade graduations in-person, and quarantines are no longer considered necessary to ensure the health and safety of our school community.
And not all of the changes and improvements we saw this year were related to the pandemic! We also saw many other wonderful enhancements and "firsts" at Father Doyle School over the course of this year:
- Mrs. Coutu joined our team as a full-time resource teacher, providing support services for students across the grade levels.
- We implemented new learning materials to support the curriculum in religion (Grades 1-8) and English Language Arts (Grades 3-8).
- The Ted Emmott Learning Center was completed, dedicated, and opened for student use using fall of 2021 Walk-a-thon funds - thank you for your support!
- The 2022 Annual School Auction was a tremendous success, allowing us to purchase new classroom furniture for our 2nd and 8th grade classrooms, which will be ready for use at the start of the 2022-23 school year.
- We completed work on a comprehensive 4-Year Strategic Plan. More information regarding implementation of the plan will be available at the start of the new year!
- Enrollment continues to grow across the grade levels, with enrollment for the 2022-23 school year once again increasing from this past year.
- And much, much more!
All of these changes are reason, perhaps for the first time since March of 2020, to look to the upcoming year with real joy and hope - with a quiet confidence and a sense that this will be a year in which Father Doyle School continues to grow, to evolve, and, most importantly, to shape our students into saints and scholars. I look forward to working and walking alongside you on this journey!
Over the summer, the FJVD Weekly Info Newsletter will continue on a weekly or bi-weekly schedule, so be sure to continue to read-up on our summer initiatives throughout the next few months!
Finally, I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a restful, relaxing, and enjoyable summer break. May it bring you much peace and fulfillment. God bless you and your families!

Uniform Ordering - Participate in Bulk Ordering!
We're pleased to launch our new Uniform Purchasing Program for the 2022-2023 school year, which can be found at the link here: http://fjvduniforms.square.site. In order to address challenges with ordering this past year, we are moving to a bulk ordering system with Donnelly’s for the 2022-2023 school year. Utilizing the link above, families can place orders for Donnelly's uniforms which will then be shipped directly to the school for pick-up. Please note, in order to maintain bulk ordering, orders will be placed with Donnelly's on the 4th of every month. Orders placed after the 4th will be placed in the following month's order.

Aluminum Can Tab Collection
What: Aluminum can tabs are being collected
Why: To support the Ronald McDonald House in Providence
How can you help? Save can tabs and send them in to Mr. Godin’s room.
Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This provides new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
Thank you!
