Principal's Message
Dear Cavalier Families,
This week and next week will be four-day weeks since Friday and Monday are designated holidays in honor of former Presidents Washington and Lincoln's birthdays. Thursday will be a schedule B day with students released at 1:25 pm.
We have been encouraging students to get to class on time. We will finish ELPAC testing this week and will soon have our first progress report at the end of the month . Every minute counts when it comes to student learning!
Students and Parents, thank you for supporting us with our cellphone policy. This is a reminder that NO CELL PHONES or earbuds / headphones should be visible on campus. Phones should be turned off and put in backpacks. If your student has earbuds, please take them and keep them at home. Students are wearing earbuds connected to their phones and it is a huge distraction. Also, please do not contact your child through the cellphone during the day. Parents can always call the main office to relay a message to your student.
This week's announcements:- The counselors will be available on a limited basis as they will be off-campus visiting elementary schools for presentations these next two weeks.
- Tuesday night we will have our Future Cavalier Information Night for 6th grade families to visit from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Our SCPA groups will perform and our certificated staff will have information at tables available. Please encourage our future families who you may know to come and meet our teachers!
- On Wednesday, we will have a Community Resource Fair at 3:30 in conjunction with our monthly food distribution that starts at 4:00 until supplies run out. Entrance will be on G Street. There are at least nineteen agencies ready to share free services to benefit your family, including vaccinations, free of charge, by San Ysidro Health. See the flyers below.
- Thursday, Ms. Tom will be taking some science students to the third "Doc for a Day" at Kaiser Permanente from 8:30 - 1:30.
- On Thursday after school, the Sweethearts Ball will take place from 1:30 - 3:00 pm in the MPB. Tickets are $5.00. See the Dance Rules below.
Continuing announcements:
- The 8th grade promotion ceremony will be held at Hilltop High School on Thursday, June 5th, 2025 at 3:00 pm. 8th graders must have earned 21 credits to participate with no behavior issues. Each student will be allowed up to six guests.
- All students and parents have the unique opportunity to receive individual and family therapy sessions at no cost through the Center of Mindful Relationships. If any student is interested in this, please fill out this form or scan the QR code on the flyer listed below.
- Parents can register their students for Club TC on the school website or through the QR code below. The Club TC office is in Room 215, close to the white G street gate. Those arriving early must enter through the gate. After school dismissal is also through the white G street gate. Once students exit the Auditorium gate at 3:10 pm they are not allowed to enter back for Club TC.
Please feel free to contact myself or Assistant Principal
Mr. Kevin.Willard@sweetwaterschools.org with any questions.
