Good Evening Acacia Families,

Thank you for a great week! I hope everyone who celebrated Halloween had a safe and fun night and enjoyed the extra day to rest.

November 15, 8:10am - ELAC/Parent Presentation with Robin Rush; LET'S TALK ABOUT OPIOID POISONING, OUR CHILDREN, OUR YOUNG ADULTS, AND HOW WE CAN SAVE A LIFE WITH THE TRAINING OF THE USE OF NALOXONE. You will leave with a free supply of Naloxone, educational material to share with your family and friends, and the ability to train others. The death rates went down in 2023 due to people having Naloxone on them and the ability to use it.

Measure N

Dear Acacia Families,

Some parents have asked about the FSD bond on the November ballot and the impact it will have for our school. For your information only, please go to Measure N Fact Sheet on Fullerton School District's website. As a reminder, ballots should arrive in the mail the week of October 7th and Election Day is November 5th. Don’t forget to vote.

Staff Shout Outs

Safety

Safety is our number one priority at Acacia. We are asking all of our families and students to only use our designated entrance and exit gates for arrival and dismissal from school. The designated entrance and exit gates include the main Dorothy gate near the Kindergarten playground, and the gates that open to the parking lot. Please do not use our emergency gates that open to the field. We appreciate your support as we strive to keep our students safe.

Champions for Children

The Champions for Children Block Party is coming up on Saturday, November 16th, from 9 AM to 1 PM. Join us for informative sessions, activities, and a chance for students to make up for an absence.

Pathways of Hope

The Pathways of Hope Holiday Community Program kicks off November 12 and runs through November 22. Pathways of Hope, is a non-profit organization based in Fullerton, providing food, transitional living and support and prevention services to the hungry, homeless and less advantaged.

Acacia supports the Pathways of Hope Holiday Community Program by collecting holiday gifts and food donations for those in need within our community and working at the holiday “store”. At the PoH store each family in need gets to pick one special gift for each child in their home. We secure donations that can be a wonderful holiday gift for youth across baby to teenager of age ranges. See our flier for gift and food donation ideas, but every year we lack enough teenage-focused gifts. Gift card donations are a great option for the teenage bracket and should be secured with our office staff during our drive. All other donations can be brought by your child to their classroom donation box, delivered at drop-off/pickup to a POH volunteer, or dropped in one of Acacia's central donation boxes (by office or Dorothy gate).

To make our gift and food drive a success WE NEED YOUR HELP before, during and after we collect donations. Volunteers at Acacia campus can include parents, extended family or even youth in girl/boy scout groups.
