March 21, 2025 -- Dive Into Learning!!
FRIDAY 3/28 IS AN EARLY DISMISSAL
The PTO Spring Book Fair is this week!
Each student will have the opportunity to browse through the books and complete a wish
list. The children will bring home their wish lists for parent review and then be able to
purchase books the following day. Please clearly indicate which books your child may
purchase or indicate a dollar amount that is not to be exceeded when the children are
making their purchases. Please review your childβs selections carefully. Returns and
exchanges will be accepted on items in new condition until fair close on Friday, March 28,
2025. The PTO will be offering each student one $5 coupon to be used towards their
purchase!
Please visit this signup genius page to sign up to volunteer. Any help is appreciated!
Our Book Fair offers a cash-free payment option called eWallet. Itβs a convenient digital
account that your child can use for shopping at our Fair. Grandparents, friends, and others
can contribute, too! If you canβt make it to the Fair, then shop online at our schoolβs Virtual
Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over
$25. Your online orders will also benefit our school. Visit our Book Fair homepage to learn
more and get started with eWallet and online shopping.
If you prefer not to use eWallet, we will still be accepting payment by cash and check. It is
best to send in a blank check since totals may vary. Checks should be made payable to:
BHS PTO. Volunteer cashiers will be happy to fill out checks for the students and send a
receipt home.
We will be hosting a special night for parents on Thursday, March 27 during conferences.
The Irish Invade!
Our students had a special treat on St. Patrick's Day as we welcomed the Mulkerin School of Irish Dance. Members of the school's Emerald Dancers team had a great time dancing for Booth Hill School. They had hard-soled shoes that made great pounding sounds for a few dances! They answered a few questions from the crowd. They will be traveling to Ireland this summer to dance as well! BHS's own Lucy O'Connor also joined them for a ("kay-lee"), a traditional dance that is done in pairs. You can watch the video here: https://www.wevideo.com/view/3737602466

What is GoGuardian? -- GoGuardian is a program that allow staff to track the websites that a student uses through their Shelton Public Schools account. Furthermore, it will flag when a student is viewing inappropriate material, whether weapons, adult content, or self-injurious behavior, and notify staff when that happens. It will also track when your child is on their SPSS accounts at home and other places off school grounds, including the times that your child is accessing these sites. The best supervision, however, is provided by adults. Please monitor your child's internet activity closely.
Conferences -- The 2nd night of conferences will be on Thursday, March 27. Conferences are by appointment only.
Conference child care will be provided again by the Girl Scouts of troop 60100. You can sign up after you make your conference appointments at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfYQDrO6ZjcGhkHCuB6fILBM8dNDTS_WejCNhhxbRa9oMJzQA/viewform
