Big Brother Big Sisters - Denton

• The purpose of the Big Brother Big Sisters program is for each enrolled child to achieve higher aspirations, greater confidence, better relationships, avoidance of risky behaviors and educational success.

• National research has shown that being in a positive relationship with a volunteer mentor has a direct and measurable benefit in a child’s life.

• Children in the program:

  • Are more confident
  • Are more likely to stay away from drugs and alcohol
  • Do better in school
  • Get along better with family and friends

Free Summer Meals

• The LISD Summer Feeding Interactive Map is updated regularly. See the map for addresses, times and more information here: lisd.net/summermeals.
  

  • Children and teens aged 18 and younger can continue to eat throughout the summer at no cost.
  • No form of identification is required, kids simply show up at a participating meal site to eat.
