Bulldog Bulletin
Week of February 7, 2022
Dear Bulldog Families,
The recently passed Parent's Bill of Rights (F.S. 1014.06(1)) requires that we receive parent consent for delivering clinic services on our campus. In order to treat a student in our school clinic we will need a consent form returned indicating that we have your permission. All students indicating "No" will not be treated in our school clinic and their parent/guardian will need to be called for all medical concerns. Students who do not return a health care consent form will be treated as a "No" for clinic services.
We will continue to dispense medication as we have done all year with appropriate documentation.
We will continue to triage students in emergency situations and call for paramedics as necessary even if you do not have a healh care consent form on file.
The consent form is located below in English and Spanish. Please complete the form and return it to our Guidance office at your earliest convenience.
You are welcome to call us at 321-952-5880 if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Dr. Chad Kirk, Principal

Student Incentive Program
The student incentive program is going great! Teachers and staff give out tickets to students that have done something the exemplifies what being a Mel High Bulldog is all about!
In addition to the items we have for them, such as t-shirts and water bottles, they are loving the gift card choices. We are running low on the initial donation of cards (Thank you!!) and would really appreciate donations to help keep our gift card option available. They seem especially fond of Starbucks and Dunkin' cards.
Donations can be dropped off in the main office. Please label the items: Attention – Mrs. Kilmer
If you have any questions, please contact me at: kilmer.cindy@brevardschools.org
Thank you in advance for any donations you are able to provide!
Covid-19 Information
UPDATED QUARANTINE INFORMATION
Health and Safety
Stay home if you are sick: We ask our families to keep children home if they exhibit any Covid-19 symptoms for the safety of our students and staff. It is the most important thing you can do to help us mitigate the spread of Covid-19 on our campus.
What do I do if someone in my home contracts the Covid-19 virus? Please call the principal at 321-952-5880 x24503 if your student, or someone living in your home, contracts the Covid-19 virus. If you are going to quarantine your student, we will help you determine the correct dates for quarantine.
Clinic Policy: During the pandemic, any student sent home from our school clinic with Covid-19 related symptoms must quarantine for 10 calendar days unless (1) the student receives a negative Covid-19 test and brings the printed result to the school nurse or, (2) the student's family physician diagnoses the student's condition as something other than Covid-19 and writes a note allowing the student to return to school.
