Full Week of School
Pride Assemblies on Monday
Message from Mr. Burns
Hi Wims Families,
Happy Sunday! I cannot believe Thanksgiving is right around the corner. This week is a full week of school, however, the following week has two early release days (Monday and Tuesday) before the Thanksgiving break.
We look forward to our first Pride assembly tomorrow. If you have been notified that your child will get an award, we hope that you can join us. Families should enter through the APR doors (cafeteria) to access the assembly. We look forward to celebrating with you:)

Personal Body Safety Lessons
Montgomery County Public Schools is taking an active role in the prevention of child abuse and neglect through early prevention and intervention education.
Starting the week of November 18th through the month of December, our school counselor will be presenting lessons on the topic of child abuse and neglect. These lessons, which have been delivered to students each year in the past, are known as Personal Body Safety Lessons. Their purpose is to help students to:
• Develop knowledge, decision making skills, and behaviors which promote safe living in the home,
school, and community;
• Learn skills for self-protection and identifying child abuse and neglect;
• Learn skills for asking for help for self and others and practice reporting to a trusted adult; and
• Engage in positive and appropriate interactions with peers and adults.
If you have any questions or concerns about the topics that will be covered, please contact me, your child’s classroom teacher, or the school counselor Mrs. Ioli.

Greetings, Wildcats!
Thank you to all of the families who signed up to donate a pie for our Wims staff! Please remember to drop off your pie(s) next Monday 11/25 between 8am-4pm. They will be distributed throughout the morning on Tuesday. The students get very excited when the pie cart comes around to the classrooms - they love to see which pie their teacher chooses!
There are just two days left in the Dave & Buster’s Power Card fundraiser. We are 25% to our goal of selling 250 power cards and have raised $630 so far! If you are interested in grabbing some discounted power cards to use as holiday gifts or to blow off some steam during winter break, be sure to click the link below before the 19th.
Registration is still open for Grandparents Day on Monday 11/25 from 8-9:30am! If your student would like to spend the morning with their grandparent(s), please RSVP by Thursday so we can plan accordingly. The form will close once the event has filled.
We desperately need volunteers for the morning of Grandparents Day! A few more hands are needed in the APR; however, our biggest need is at Book Fair. This is a very busy (and successful!) morning, but without enough volunteers, we will have to cancel the Book Fair portion of Grandparents Day. We understand this would be disappointing and will share the status in next week’s Sunday message so our attending grandparents know what to expect. If you can spare the morning next Monday to work at Book Fair, please sign up here.
Finally, our December PTA Meeting has been rescheduled to Tuesday, December 10 at 6:30pm in the Media Center, so please update your calendars! For those who aren’t able to attend in person, the Zoom link will be shared prior to the meeting.
Have a Wonderful Wildcat Week!
