HSoC - The Weekly Update
April 28th, - May 2nd , 2025 2025
Quote for the Week
“The spirit of complaint is born out of an unwillingness to trust God with today.
Like the Israelites, it means you are spending your time looking back toward Egypt or wishing for the future all the while missing what God is doing right now.”
― Priscilla Shirer

Honoring Those Who Intend to Serve!
Armed Services
HSoC is coordinating with the Military Service Academy Coordinator for Congressman Jake Ellzey. He would like to recognize the students who enlisted in the military and will enter a branch of service upon graduation with a Congressional Certificate of Recognition.
If You or your scholar has already enlisted in any branch of service. Please provide that information to us immediately or have your Recruiter contact HSoC AT hsocmail@wisd.org OR Dr. Benskin at abenskin@wisd.org
We would like to have these certificates prior to the graduation ceremony..

HSoC is Growing — and We Need YOU to Help Find Our Next Success Stories!
HSoC has been successful because of YOU — the students who have come here, worked hard, and often turned what was once a last chance into a major success story. You are the heart of HSoC's achievements!
Now, it’s time to open the door for more students who need the same opportunity. If you know someone like you — someone who just needs a second chance to reach their goals — encourage them to apply to HSoC!
We are now accepting applications for the 2025-2026 school year!
Apply today at: Application Link
Minimum Requirements for Acceptance:
-
Must have passed or waived at least three (3) End of Course (E.O.C.) exams.
-
Must already be enrolled in WISD — unfortunately, no out-of-district students.
-
Strong attendance is a key factor for acceptance.
-
Transportation is not provided — students must arrange their own transportation.
-
Discipline history will be carefully reviewed and is an important part of the acceptance decision.
If you know someone who would thrive here, send them our way! Let's continue building success stories — one student at a time!
High School of Choice (HSoC)
We are an alternative high school designed to help at-risk students achieve their goals of high school graduation and beyond. HSoC supports students through rigorous, innovative, and engaging learning experiences. Every student will be empowered to fiercely navigate their world with resilience, purpose, courage, humility, and pride.
Academic Performance and Effort
It is an expectation that all High School of Choice (HSoC) students put forth the effort to reach their maximum potential. Academic excellence is achieved by challenging yourself to improve on every assignment or task you encounter.
