Prop L
The Wentzville School District Board of Education voted unanimously to place Proposition L – a zero-rate-change bond initiative – on the April 8, 2025, ballot. If passed, Prop L would address facility needs across the district by funding enhanced safety and security measures district-wide; renovating legacy buildings such as Heritage Elementary, Wentzville Middle, and Holt High School; resurfacing all WSD elementary playgrounds to improve accessibility; replacing turf at Holt, Liberty, and Timberland high schools' athletic fields; and more. Learn how Prop L would impact our school at wsdlegacy.com.
Paid for by Wentzville R-IV School District; Brian Bishop, Superintendent; 280 Interstate Drive, Wentzville, Missouri 63385.

Please help our students shine by making sure our students get plenty of rest each night and have a healthy breakfast each day. We also ask that you ensure that your child arrives to school each day on time and you avoid scheduling appointments during school hours. Finally, we ask that you talk to your child about doing their best on the test, but not to the extent that they are worried or stressed. This is not a test that students study for; it is a chance for them to show what they know!
Class Placement Requests
In the coming weeks we will begin our class placement process for the 2025-2026 school year. We know many families like to provide preferrred characteristics for their child's teacher placement. We would love to gather this input. However, please be advised that, as in years past, we cannot accept specific requests for specific teacher placements.
If you would like to provide input and feedback in your child(ren)'s placement for next year, please send an email to Mr. Holler and/or Mrs. Keebey explaining what characteristics you feel would be beneficial for your child. We will take this into account to the greatest possible extent. Please do not include a specific teacher's name. We look at a wide range of factors in placing students, and cannot always guarantee a specific placement with a specific teacher.
Benefits of Getting Outside After School!
Spring is in the air! We have lots of exciting activities coming up around the building, including MAP testing for our 3rd-5th graders. Here are some mindfulness strategies that can help your kids feel their best no matter what they might be tackling this Spring.
Calming Strategies:
Breathing Exercises
Bee Breaths:
Breathe in like you are a bee smelling a flower; Breathe out and make a Bzzzzzz sound like a buzzing bee.
Bunny Breaths:
Hold your hands like bunny ears on your head. Turn your nose up to the sky like a bunny standing and sniffing the spring air, breathe in 3 short breaths like a bunny and breathe out.
Bloom Breathing:
Crouch down like you’re a flower ready to bloom. Slowly rise like you are blooming, as you inhale, reach your arms & face up towards the sun. Hold your breath for a moment before exhaling and return your arms to your sides.
Grounding Exercises:
Object Focus:
Hold an object in front of you; look at it; then look beyond the object; repeat until feeling calm.
Pick a Color Room Search:
Pick a color and look around the room to find 10 things with that color.
Mindful Moments Videos for Kids:
Test Prep:
Make a Test Day Mantra: something to help you feel confident and calm. Write it down; put it in a spot where you will see it; repeat it every morning
Pack your school bag the night before and place it by the door
Eat breakfast the day of the test
Get outside!
Move your body: pick your favorite movement based activity or try something new!
Remember: one test does not define who you are as a student, as a learner, or a person. As long as you try your best, your best is good enough.

WSD FOCUS Update
Signing Students In/Out
(Very Important Information for Parents- Please Read)
With the update to the Focus software, the way you will sign your student in and out at the office has changed. We are no longer using the touch screen at the front desk. This has been replaced with a scanner kiosk that parents must now use for signing students in and out.
To use the scanner, you must access the barcode of your student located within the Focus app. There are instructions attached on how to access the barcode. Barcodes are not accessible on the Focus website, only the app. If you do not have the barcode when you are signing a student in or out, you must know your student's ID# and enter it manually. Please take the time to screenshot your barcode(s) for easy access when in the office, or write down student numbers in an easy to locate place. Your help in being prepared with this information will allow for a more quick and efficient check-in/out process.
District Emails
If you're not receiving emails from WSD staff or schools, they might be landing in your spam folder. Learn more on how to fix that. You'll want to make sure you familiarize yourself with the district email domain: All district emails are delivered from: noreply@sis.wsdr4.org.
Here are a few training videos you may find helpful as well.

Wear It Wednesday
Wear it Wednesday!
Every Wednesday at Lakeview is a House Spirit Day, which we call WEAR IT WEDNESDAY! If your child wears a shirt reflecting their house color, they get one house point. We recognize not all families or students have official house shirts, and we want to recognize students who rock their house colors. As a reminder the colors are:
Altruismo - Black
Amistad - Red
Isibindi - Green
Reveur - Blue
If your child comes to school in a house shirt OR wearing a shirt of their color, they earn a point for their house.
