MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Franklin Students and Families,
This week we launched Franklin's new school values. Some of you may remember voting on what our school values should be during Back to School Night. We will be moving from using the Franklin STRONG acronym to using Franklin Joy. I am so proud to announce our new school values that were collaboratively selected by students, staff, and families. Our new school values are: Kindness, Mutual Respect, Collaboration, Honoring Identity, and Joy. The values will guide the creation of climate and culture practices for our school.
I'd like to remind you to please complete the Successful Schools Survey. We have a low number of families that have completed it so far. The survey is open now until December 6th. Your feedback is so important to us. We will have opportunities for you to take the survey on Monday and Tuesday during conferences as well.
There is a lot of exciting information in this week's edition of The Bolt. Scroll down to learn about all the amazing opportunities for how you can continue to be involved in your students' education at Franklin. We look forward to seeing you in the gym at conferences next week!
Thank you, Dr. Z
SCHOOL NEWS
NEXT WEEK: Parent-Teacher Conference Information
We are looking forward to the opportunity to meet with you during parent teacher conferences on Monday, November 25th and Tuesday, November 26th. Conferences will be held arena style, on a drop-in basis, in the Franklin High School Gym. Teachers will be organized by departments with a map, and signs, for family convenience. Counselors, support staff, and school partners will be available in the lobby to help families navigate. Some priority conferences will be pre-scheduled for meeting in classroom spaces in the gym building. Spanish, Chinese, Russian, and Vietnamese interpreters will be available on Monday the 25th from 5:30-8:30pm and Tuesday the 26th from 1:30-4:30 PM. Teachers will be available on the following schedule:
8:30am-12:00pm
1:00pm-4:30pm
5:30-8:30pm
We ask that families arrive no later than 7:30pm to ensure an end time of 8:30pm for all staff. There may be a wait time to see teachers and we ask that families keep time with each individual teacher to a 10 minute maximum out of respect for others waiting. Please reach out to Vice Principal Amy Gervais with any questions about conferences. We look forward to welcoming you all.
