CEDARMERE ES CELEBRATES HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH
From September 15 to October 15, we celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month, recognizing the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans on our nation’s achievements, culture, and history.
In our classrooms, we’ve been learning about famous Hispanic Americans, engaging in weekly trivia, and enjoying music from talented artists of Hispanic heritage. This month is a wonderful opportunity for us to honor and celebrate the rich diversity and heritage that enhance our school community.
Thank you for joining us in this celebration!

Arrival Carpool Loop
Dear CES Families,
As we prioritize the safety of our students during arrival, please remember to drive all the way down the car loop. One of our staff members will be there to assist your child with exiting the vehicle.
For everyone's safety, please avoid stopping in the middle of the loop to let your child out. Your cooperation is crucial in helping us maintain a safe environment for all students.
Thank you for your understanding and support!
We're ALL IN for this! BCPS proudly introduces the slogan, "Here For It," inspiring our students to show up for school every day! Did you know there's a Maryland State Attendance requirement? It's crucial for your child to maintain an attendance rate of at least 94% throughout the school year. We understand the challenges of flu season and the ongoing presence of COVID, and if your child isn't feeling well, we encourage you to prioritize their health.
However, it's proven that students with high attendance percentages tend to be more successful. So, if your child can attend, please ensure their presence.
In case your child needs to be absent, kindly provide a note—whether handwritten or through email. Submitting written documentation helps us keep accurate records. Remember, not all absences are considered lawful. Let's make every school day count!
Shout out to our 5th graders for having the highest attendance percentage for the month of September!
Non Edible Treats for Special Occasions and Birthdays
Dear CES Families,
We understand that many families wish to celebrate special occasions, such as birthdays, with treats. However, to ensure the safety and well-being of all students—especially those with allergies—we kindly ask that you refrain from providing any sweet or edible items in the classroom.
Instead, we encourage you to consider non-edible fun items that all students can enjoy together. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us create a safe and inclusive environment for everyone!
