The Junior Class Takes on Washington, DC! 🇺🇸
The annual Junior trip to our nation's capital took place this week.
Thank you to Mrs. Gephart and Mr. Garofola for organizing this amazing experience for our students. Special thanks to Mr. Garofola, Mrs. Miley, Mrs. Haddad, Mr. Pierce, Dr. Miller, Mr. Chapleau, Mrs. Planz, and Ms. Pintavalle. These dedicated staff members spent three days with our students, and without trip could not have happened without them!
Honoring Those Who Made The Supreme Sacrifice
Brandon Gangi, Kaitlyn Garbowski, Anne Johnston, Hunter Williams represented our school and town in the ceremonial laying of the wreath at The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.

Congrats to Our Student Composers! 🎵
Grace Kelly, Sydney Abarientos, and Nicky Eklund were accepted into the Connecticut Music Educators Association Student Composition/Songwriting Gallery at the upcoming In-Service Conference April 4-6, 2024 in Hartford. Applicants were asked to submit an original composition for review. All genres and processes of music making were accepted, including but limited to: classical, pop, electronic, hip hop, Jazz, songwriting, aleatoric music, etc. These students will have the opportunity to work with guest composer Josh A. Idio during the Meet & Greet event as well as have their work on display throughout the entire conference.
School Day SAT for Juniors Begin on March 25
Emails to Be Sent Next Week
On Monday, 3/25 through Wednesday, 3/27, all juniors will sit for the Connecticut School Day SAT. Students will be assigned a specific day and room to take the test. This information will be sent to students next week via their school email.
All students will be provided with a school-issued Chromebook for the test.
Students need to be well-rested and on time on their assigned testing day.

What is Unified Theater?
In Unified Theater, young people with and without disabilities, of all backgrounds, come together as equals to put on a production. The production is organized, written, and directed by the students themselves. The concept is simple: empower youth to lead, let creativity rule, and put the spotlight on ability!

The Post-Grad Committee Needs You!
Parents/Guardians of the Class of 2024:
The Post Grad Committee is sponsoring several events this year to help celebrate our children.
● Overnight party at Quassy Amusement Park – June 21, 2024 - $125
â—Ź Yard signs that can be displayed to celebrate your child - $20
● Surprise a Senior – community members are paired with your child and provide them with a
surprise the week of graduation. No cost to the Seniors.
See the letter attached below for information about the yard signs. Yard signs are a fundraiser for the Post Grad organization and help offset our costs. Each sign is $20 and must be ordered by April 15th.
More communication will come out about signing up for the party and about Surprise a Senior – please check email and facebook for this information.

National Honor Society Tutoring Available!
New Fairfield National Honor Society students are excited to offer their tutoring services to the high school community!
Have your student fill out the form below to request a tutor. NHS students will reach out via email shortly afterwards to coordinate a mutual time and location.
NHS students are also offering tutoring after school on Wednesdays right outside of the Learning Commons from 2-3pm. This is a first come, first serve basis.
