Dear Naumann families,

We had another great evening at Learning Under the Stars! I hope those of you who were able to make it enjoyed yourselves. As always, thank you for being our partners and taking the time to extend learning beyond the school day. Thank you to PTA and all the volunteers who helped make the night a success.

There are several more events happening in the coming weeks that I hope you will be able to attend.

I hope everyone has a fun and safe spring break next week! We will see students back on Tuesday, March 25th.

In Leander ISD, we believe students receive a quality education regardless of the campus they attend; however, we understand there are circumstances when a parent may desire for their child to attend a school other than the campus they are currently assigned.

The transfer window for currently enrolled students is now open. The window will be open March 1st, 2025 and remain open until March 31st, 2025. We will only accept transfer requests using our online application through Edpay. If parents or students have concerns or questions about their current campus, please contact your school’s administration for support.

All Elementary students are welcome to participate in our Shout Out For Subs Contest to celebrate our dedicated, hardworking substitute.

Timeline

March 25th - April 15th Entries accepted (students may turn in entries to their campus front office).

April 25th Campus finalist selected. Each campus winner will advance to the final round of judging at the district level.

May 1st Final District winners selected. Prizes will be awarded to all campus finalists and final district winners May 5th - May 9th during Substitute Appreciation Week.

Guidelines for Submissions

PK-2nd grade students’ entries include a drawing with at least one key word they choose describing how a substitute made them feel.

3rd-5th grade students’ entries can include an essay, paragraph or poem no more than 200 words describing how a substitute has made a difference to them (This can include a drawing as well).

Each entry should have a student's full name, grade level, and the substitute’s name.

Entries should be no larger than 18"x24". Hosted by LISD PTA Council & Substitute Office.

The 2025 annual LISD District-Wide Art Show is just around the corner!

The art show is a free come-and-go event and will take place from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Vandegrift High School, located at 9500 McNeill Drive in Austin. Students who have artwork featured in the show will be sent home a flyer the week before spring break.

If you are unable to attend, the artwork will be featured again at the Naumann talent show that will be taking place in early April!

Registration for the final session for After-School Enrichment program is now open. The deadline to register is March 24th.

The Austin PBS KIDS Writers Showcase is looking for amazing stories written and illustrated by amazing kids. Each story will be published on their website and every kid will receive a certificate! A selection of writers will receive prizes and be invited to our Writers Showcase event!
