Online registration for the 2023-2024 school year remains open! You can register your child using District 34's online registration system any time. You also can verify residency (if applicable) and pay fees securely and conveniently online.

Dear Glen Grove Families,
I hope this newsletter finds you well and that you are enjoying summer moments as a family! I cannot believe it is August already and we are preparing to embark on a new adventure of learning and laughter at Glen Grove!
The opening of schools this year will be incredibly exciting with the brand-new construction and learning spaces. The construction crews have been working nonstop to ensure that Glen Grove is ready to go. The progress is exciting! (There are some photos at the end of the newsletter to give you a sneak peek of the progress.)
Many of you have shared your eagerness to know your child’s class placement. The district office will email this information on August 11th. Please know that a tremendous amount of teacher work goes into making the classes. They are intentionally balanced to support an optimal learning environment. It is not possible to make classroom switches at this time. Our teachers go above and beyond to create positive learning communities and support new and existing peer relationships. We are confident that it is going to be a great experience for your child!
Speaking of teachers, we are excited to host our school-wide meet and greet on August 22nd at 2:00 pm. Save the date! This is a great opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and connect with the classroom community ahead of time. Our fabulous Westbrook/Glen Grove PTA will be providing popsicles on the playground after the meet and greet at 2:30. This will be another awesome opportunity to build community and connect!
I know the start of the year brings lots of excitement and energy. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, comments, or concerns about the year. I am committed to serving our students, teachers, and families and making this year at Glen Grove the best year ever!

K-8TH Registration for 2023-2024 School Year
Glen Grove Attendance :
All student absences should be called into the health office no later than 7:45 a.m. at (847) 657-2394. The Health Office has voicemail so parents can call to leave messages at any time.
If you do not notify your Student's school of your child's absence your student will have an UNEXCUSED ABSENCE for the day,
Illness:
If your student is sick please keep your child home until he/she is feeling well, symptoms have improved and fever free for over 24 hours without fever reducing medications and no vomiting or diarrhea for more than 24 hours.
Student Medications kept at school:
New D34 Medication Administration and Emergency Action forms need to be completed for the 2023-2024 School year. The medication forms are valid if dated after June 8,2023.
You may drop-off medications at Glen Grove on or after August 22, 2023. Please be sure you have the D34 Medication Administration form completed and provide the medication in its original container. The medication should not expire before the end of the school year, May 31, 2024. If you have medication Administration questions please contact Jennifer Hastings, Glen Grove School Nurse.
If your student has a food allergy or asthma please provide a Food Allergy Action Plan or an Asthma Action Plan along with the D34 medication Administration Form.
Please be sure to sign section III of the medication administration form ( back of Medication Administration form) Also sign the parent portion Emergency Action form if applicable.
COMMUNITY CONNECT RESOURCE FAIR
On August 9, 2023, from 3:00PM-6:00PM at Attea Middle School, District 34 is hosting a community resource event. Representatives from both District 34 and other community organizations will be available to share information regarding housing, food, health care, etc. At the event, there will be Dental exams by the Smile IL Mobile Dentist and Health Exams given by the Ronald McDonald Health Van. Please contact Kathy Walstrom at 847.998.5018 or kwalstrom@glenview34.org by Friday if you need an appointment. The spots are filling up quickly.

Families that register more than 30 days before the first day of school (August 24, 2023) will be required to submit a State of Illinois health exam and immunization record in order to qualify for the first day of school.
