This Week at Heritage High

Congratulations to the following students who passed the first round of auditions for GMEA All-State Choir: Lydia Colquette, Caleigh Jackson, Hannah Johnston, Cadin Minjarez, Julia Petteys, and Maddox Weaver. This is a tough audition in which students sing an Italian art song, sight read three examples of music, and sing their scales. We are so proud of these students. Go Generals!

Heritage is one only 4 Catoosa County schools who have been recognized as Math Leaders by the GADoe for 2023-2024. This is a testament to hard work, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence that is clearly evident in the dedicated work of our math teams. I'm so proud of this accomplishment by our phenomenal math educators! Go Generals!!!!!!

We are thrilled to announce that our school's outstanding achievements in mathematics will be recognized by State Superintendent Woods! Heritage High School, along with LFO, Heritage Middle, and Ringgold Middle will be recognized for being Georgia Math Leader Schools in a special ceremony at the HHS Theater on Monday, December 9th at 2:00 PM. During this event, Superintendent Woods will personally present each school with the respected GaDOE Math Leader Award. Congratulations to our students, the outstanding math teachers who support them, and the other Catoosa County schools who have earned this special recognition!

On Tuesday, December 3rd, Mr. Ben Meadows will be presenting to parents and providing valuable information on the Hope Scholarship, FAFSA, and Financial Aid for students. The meeting will start at 6:00 pm in the HHS cafeteria. Please come out and learn more about how to prepare your student financially for life after high school.

We will be switching gears here soon to start prepping for The Addams Family so we are bringing back our custom Buff City Soaps! These make GREAT Christmas presents for stocking stuffers, teacher gifts, etc. Our item information is attached here and on the Google Form.

All orders are due by December 2nd and we will have your orders the week before Christmas break! Samples will be put in the main office for you to see and smell, but please do not take these:)

Its time again to partner with our Catoosa County Sheriff's Office to bring hope and joy for many of our underprivileged children in our community. Please see the details in the attached letter to see how you can get involved in making the holidays a special time for all our children in Catoosa County. Parents, please help your students understand the importance of being aware of their surroundings. Please encourage your child to say something if they see or hear something that sounds un-safe or potentially dangerous. A courageous student willing to report something suspicious can make all the difference. This is something they should practice inside and outside of school to ensure their safety.

Students who see or hear something suspicious have many options when it comes to reporting what they see. Make sure they know they can report to an administrator, a teacher, a school counselor, or an adult they trust. They can also text hello to 741-741. Leaders cannot act on information they don't have so please encourage your student report what they see and hear if it is suspicious or dangerous. We're better together!

Any student arriving after 8:15 am will need to enter through the front office. CCA, Work-Based Learning, and Dual Enrollment students who arrive on campus after 8:15 will need enter the building through the front office. We have posted signs at the gym entrance to let students know this as well.

Student drivers need to purchase a parking permit as soon as possible. Parking permits are $30 and can be purchased in the HHS Front Office.
