Message from the Principal
Dear Kennedy High School Parents and Community,
As we move through another exciting week at Kennedy High School, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for your continued support and partnership in our mission to provide the best possible educational experience for our students.
This week is National School Counseling Week, a time to celebrate the invaluable contributions of our dedicated school counselors. They are truly at the heart of our student support system. Our counselors work tirelessly to guide our students through a myriad of challenges, from navigating the complexities of college applications and exploring diverse career options, to developing essential life skills and fostering their social-emotional well-being. They are advocates, mentors, and trusted resources for our students, providing crucial support that empowers them to succeed academically, personally, and professionally. Please join me in thanking our amazing school counseling team this week for all that they do for our Kennedy students!
I am also thrilled to share some incredible news from the world of Kennedy High School’s “Fighting Irish” athletics! Our Boys' Varsity Basketball team has clinched their first league title in 32 years with a thrilling overtime victory (72-68) over Katella High School last Wednesday! Adding to the excitement, our Girls' Varsity Soccer team secured their first league title in 20 years with a decisive 3-0 win over Godinez last Thursday night! Congratulations to both teams, their coaches, and all the players on these historic wins! We are incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication. And let's give a shout out to Madeline "Maddy" Hsu, who broke former Fighting Irish Lauren Chow's 17-year-old record for three-pointers in a season! Our Scholar Athletes are making Kennedy proud!
Beyond athletics, our arts program is also shining brightly. Don't miss Show Choir's "Preview Night" this coming week! This is a great opportunity to experience a dynamic performing art that combines the power of vocal music with the excitement of choreographed dance. Performances will be held on Thursday, February 6th at 7:00 PM featuring the Kennedy Singers, and on Friday, February 7th at 7:00 PM featuring both Walker and Kennedy Show Choirs. These performances will feature this year's competition routines and promise to be a spectacular showcase of talent.
This Saturday, February 8th, our students will enjoy Kennedy's Winter Formal from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM at the beautiful Bowers Museum! This incredible venue will provide the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable night of memories for our students.
This week's home athletic events, as we wrap up the last week of league play, include the following Girls' Varsity Soccer matches: Monday, February 3rd, vs Segerstrom HS at 3:00 PM, and Wednesday, February 5th, vs Tustin HS at 3:00 PM.
Thank you again for your continued support of Kennedy High School. It is through our collaborative efforts that we can provide the best possible opportunities for our students to thrive.
Sincerely,
Poppy Hill-Bonales

2024-2025 LCAP Kickoff
Our first LCAP meeting will be this Thursday, February 6th at 6:00 p.m. at the AUHSD District Office. Come early as dinner will be provided!
LCAP refers to the Local Control and Accountability Plan or AUHSD's plan to ensure student success. Taking the survey and attending the LCAP meetings helps not only Kennedy, but the district to create a plan to support ALL students; especially those who need extra support. Students, staff, and parents all take this survey, which provides us valuable insight on what we can improve on.
