Dear EHTHS Families and Staff,

As summer approaches, our students are buzzing with excitement for the upcoming vacation. Before we dive into the joys of summer break, let's take a moment to celebrate the remarkable events and accomplishments of our school community.

Last weekend, our talented orchestra students had the incredible opportunity to perform aboard the Royal Caribbean ship Liberty of the Seas. Their performance was enjoyed by many cruisers who continued to praise their performance throughout their time on the ship. We are very proud of them as they were performing in 30’ seas.

Mr. Bell, Ms. Florido, and the Multicultural Club hosted a celebration of diversity during our annual Multicultural Day. From engaging games to great food, students immersed themselves in the diverse cultures represented within our school community. The day concluded with a multicultural fashion show. Our students also joined together to commemorate Juneteenth with a celebration filled with food, games, music, and meaningful discussions. It was a poignant reminder of the importance of unity, history, and progress as we strive for a more inclusive future.

Our Pre-K students dazzled us with their talents during a delightful outdoor performance. Afterward, they enjoyed refreshing ice pops with their families.

Our Boys Track and Field team ended the season on a high note with standout performances. Christopher Manzo's impressive 6th place finish in the 800, Mike Simeon's commendable 23rd place in the shot put, and the 4x800 team's 20th place showcase the dedication and athleticism of our student-athletes. Congratulations to all on a successful season!

A GREAT Day for the Arts at Sea!!!

CONGRATULATIONS to the EHTHS String Orchestra and their Conductor, Ms. Jenna DiSalvio on an excellent performance aboard the Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas!

Our students rocked (as did the ship due to some choppy water) and entertained passengers who came to the theater after their breakfast!

Thank You to Maestro DiSalvio for giving our students an experience of a lifetime and for showing off our #ehtpride to folks from all over the world!

Finally, thanks to our EHT Schools - Transportation dept. for bringing our students and instruments so quickly and safely to the Port and thanks to our EHTBOE and Central Office for encouraging and allowing these meaningful experiences for our students!

Congratulations to Juniors: James Rodas, Marcus Sarao, Osariemen Unuigbe, and Yesenia Luciano Gonzalez who are attending the American Legions Boys & Girls State program later this month. Have fun, learn a lot and bring back some skills to use next year!

Hey EHT! Here is a great story about Alumni and everyone’s favorite substitute Mr. Monny Strickland. He was in the first group from Rowan’s Men of Color Hope Achievers (MOCHA) program that focuses on recruiting, preparing, supporting, and retaining males ofcolor to earn certification through an alternate route program. He was a wonderful student and his going to be an even greater teacher! Good luck, Monny!!

The High School will be continuing with this bullying-prevention program for this school year!

#DAY1--a staff and student-led philosophy that will serve to foster a building-wide atmosphere of kindness and inclusion.

This program was started a few years ago in Bergen County by the Tyler Clementi Foundation and has gained momentum throughout the state and country for use in schools, community groups, workplaces, and sports teams.

The premise is simple: the adults in the building make a “declaration statement” about behavior that is expected, as well as behavior that is unacceptable, and we all pledge to conduct ourselves accordingly. This includes seeking help when we witness unacceptable behavior occurring.

This notion is called being an #Upstander
