Ferguson-Florissant's many layers of school safety range from enhanced safety measures to emergency planning to training staff to identify threatening behavior. Our system includes engaged staff, trained counselors, mandatory 4E training for all staff, and partnerships with our local law enforcement.
We have 12 dedicated school resource police officers who work in our schools as part of a partnership with Florissant and St. Louis County Police Departments. Our SROs are committed to not only ensuring a safe and supportive environment in our schools, but also build positive relationships with students.

Practicing For An Emergency
All schools conduct a variety of drills in accordance with Missouri law so that students and staff are ready to respond. These include fire, tornado, earthquake, and intruder drills.
What Happens During An Emergency?
Ferguson-Florissant has emergency protocols that allow for a quick response to situations ranging from a severe weather warning to police activity in the neighborhood to a dangerous intruder. Here are what the reponses mean when activated:
Centegix Crisis Alert Badges
During the summer, the District installed the Centegix CrisisAlert system throughout all of our schools. Every classroom, hallway, and other areas have been outfitted with a strobe light, ensuring comprehensive security measures during an emergency, major disturbance, or a potential active intruder. CrisisAlert badges serve as a silent panic alert system and enable school based staff to request assistance from anywhere. Think Before You Post - It's Not a Joke
There have been an increase in school threats across the nation and in the St. Louis area. All threats are taken seriously, even pranks. The FBI stresses the importance of not posting or making threats. We've added this message from the FBI and our local police partners on district devices as a reminder that threats are never a joke.
