LAST CALL - LOST AND FOUND

Happy Friday!

We can feel the excitement building in the air as our students get ready for the winter break. With excitement comes, you guessed it, LOST CLOTHES! We have A LOT of UNCLAIMED items. Today is the last day to review pictures before we bag up the items and donate them. If you haven't already, PLEASE take a few minutes to review the items (hats, gloves, sweatshirts, and even winter coats and boots!)

If you see an item that might belong to your child please respond directly to this email or to edavis@sd25.org and include the picture number, item description, child's name, and teacher.

Stand by Me submitted by Mrs. Stevens

This grant enabled the purchase of freestanding flexible workspaces which function as adjustable desks to promote inclusivity, and portable whiteboards facilitating collaboration and deeper thinking within the classroom.

Decodable Book Sets AND Supporting Multilingual Learners submitted by Mrs. Parisi

I saw a need for more decodable book sets for our emerging readers. My grant was for both Olive and Ivy Hill schools. Thanks to the ABC25 Foundation, we will now have more books to offer our striving students for important reading practice! I feel the greatest reward in teaching is student success.

Fantastic Flexibility submitted by Mrs. Fraser

When students were asked what their wishes were in an ideal classroom, they said they would like more opportunities for flexible movement in their learning. This led to me meeting with a group of the students and brainstorming what they felt their needs were. Students were able to select and vote on different seating options and I then took those ideas forward and wrote the grant.

Playground Inclusive Communication Board Submitted by Ms. Davis

At OMS we want all of our students and families to feel included. A new playground communication board will help do just that. A communication board benefits people of all abilities. It can act as a menu to suggest things a person might like to say, enhance a verbal message, clarify speech when it's difficult to understand, or as a replacement for someone who doesn't use verbal speech. We are excited to install and share this new playground tool with our community!
