The Office of Library and Information Services is pleased to announce that OLIS will be receiving $2.2 million through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) to support libraries and library services in Rhode Island. OLIS will be seeking input from the library community on expenditure of stimulus funds, which will include a combination of grants and statewide services coordinated by OLIS. More details on community input will be posted this week.
[March 19, 2021] The Governor's proposed budget includes level funding of state aid to libraries in fiscal year 2022. .
[March 19, 2021] Schools, libraries, educators, parents, and all are invited to comment on the provision of support from the Emergency Connectivity Fund.
[March 13, 2021] OLIS is accepting applications for projects from libraries and library organizations through April 2. .
[March 8, 2021] The OLIS-LORI Delivery Items Count will take place from Sunday, March 21 through Saturday, March 27. .

The theme of the 35th Rhode Island Historic Preservation Conference is “Come Back to the Future” which will take place Wednesday, April 21 – Friday, April 23, 2021. The conference will be in a virtual format with Keynote from “Mr. Modernism” George Smart and landscape architect Kofi Boone, FASLA.
