Hello Robinwood Families,
This month’s social-emotional learning (SEL) topic is 2nd Step.
2nd Step is the core resource used to teach social-emotional skills to all students 4k-5th grade. There are 3-4 main units of study: Skills for Learning, Empathy, Emotion Management, Friendship and Problem-Solving skills. Please take a few minutes to read over the introductory letter for your child’s grade level. The letters include a “code” for you to carry-over the skills learned at school to home.

This core resource also uses common language for: skills for learning, listening, calming down, playing fairly, showing empathy, problem-solving. This language can also be used at home to support these various skills.

TRADITION HERE AT ROBINWOOD
In order to showcase the many cultures that make up our Robinwood Family, we will again be displaying a Cultural Tree in the lobby outside of the library. We are asking interested families to donate a decoration to be placed on the tree. This item can be either purchased or handmade. It should however depict a part of your culture or native country. Please place any decorations in a bag with a note as to what holiday and country they represent. We will then label the items with a tag stating that information. These items will not be returned, they will be kept to be reused in following years.
LOST & FOUND
Please click here to see pictures of the items in our lost and found. We will be purging lost and found items more often so it’s important for children to keep close tabs on their belongings. It is also suggested that if possible, student items be labeled with the first and last name on it so that we can get it back to the student if it becomes lost. All items not picked up after 2 weeks will be donated.
ROBINWOOD SNOW BAGS AVAILABLE
Robinwood has snow bags available for $8.00 each. If you would like to purchase one please send exact cash or make a check payable to Robinwood PTO to the school office. These are great bags to hold snow pants, mittens, hats, boots, & any other winter gear. If you purchase a bag, the office will write your students last name on it unless you let us know otherwise.
