News from Ms. Ricks, Principal

Fall has officially arrived as the weather was wonderful outside! Our Explorers and RJWE Staff were loving recess today!!! Earlier in the week on Tuesday, we had a great turnout at the PTA GUIDES kickoff event! We look forward to welcoming our GUIDES later this semester!

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our school community for the wonderful response to our Read-a-thon! We're incredibly proud of our readers and grateful for your support, which made our fundraiser a success. Our students had a wonderful time reading. We can't wait to host another Read-A-Thon next year! As a reminder, Friday, September 27 is the last day to collect donations and the last day for our Explorers to spend their RAT bucks! 🙂

October is right around the corner and there are lots of fun events planned such as our campus Fun Run, Digital Citizenship Week, PTA Trunk or Treat and more! New Procedures Regarding Lunch Visitors

It has been great seeing so many lunch visitors! As a reminder only parents/guardians, non-school aged children and immediate family listed on the 24-25 Lunch Visitors Parent Permission form are able to visit for lunch. Due to limited space, visitors are limited to 2 visitors per student. Please note the following: Each parent must sign up for their own seat and a separate seat for any non school age siblings. PLEASE REMEMBER when signing up to include your child's name and teacher in the comments. All visitors must show a physical, hard copy government issued ID (driver's license or passport) when you arrive for lunch. We ask that each student be limited to having a lunch visit one day per week to allow all Explorers the opportunity to have a lunch visit. If you are not able to come to lunch after you signed up, please remove your name from the list. Also, please be aware that a few minutes prior to your child's lunch time ending, the monitors will direct your child to join his/her class; this helps with making our cafeteria exit procedures run more smoothly. Katy ISD Love and Logic Parenting Classes Fall 2024

Love and Logic Parenting Classes will be offered at multiple campuses during the Fall semester of 2024. Participation options are listed in the chart below. Katy ISD families may register to attend any session. Dates for Love and Logic courses will also be posted on the Professional Learning website https://www.katyisd.org/Page/9511 . Families who wish to participate in Love and Logic courses may pay $10 for the cost of the workbook with cash, check, or with the Pay ‘N Go system. Love and Logic Facilitators will arrange for parents to pick up materials. At least 10 participants are required for each session. If a minimum number of participants is not met, registered participants will be directed to an alternate session.

School Store Volunteers Needed

Wolman Explorers and Parents – Get Ready!

The first RJWE School Store of the 2024-2025 school year is happening on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024! It's going to be a day full of fun, and our Explorers can’t wait to shop for some awesome items!

What to Expect:

Tons of fun and cool items for $5.00 or less!
Special seasonal items and must-haves that your kids will love!
A chance for students to be independent and practice their money skills!

We Need Volunteers!

We can’t make the magic happen without YOU! If you can spare some time, please sign up to help make the day run smoothly. The more volunteers, the better the experience for our kids!

Please send money with your child's name and amount written on a Ziploc bag. Also, money is not allowed to be dropped off at the front office for the school store. You are welcome to let your child or teacher know and meet them in the LGI or shop for items for your child yourself. For your convenience, we accept cash, checks, and credit cards.
