Reminder: No Cell Phones in School
We have seen an uptick of students with cell phones. We are graciously asking parents and guardians for their support on keeping cell phones & smart watches at home. If a child brings
their cell phone/smart watch to school, they will be asked to give it to the teacher for the remainder of the day. If a student has their phone/smart watch and refuses to give it to the teacher for the rest of the day, administration will work with that student and family. Cell phones/smart watches in school lead to increased disruptions to learning, anxiety, cyberbullying, and decreased academic performance. Please reference this link about the impact of cell phone and technology addiction on children and teens.

Student Social Emotional Learning & Equity Survey
As part of our commitment to provide Excellence, Innovation, and Equity in All We Do, Roseville Area Schools wants to hear from our students about their experience in our schools. During the weeks of March 17 and March 24 we will be conducting a social emotional and equity survey for students in grades 5-12.
Questions on the survey are about many topics relating to student’s experiences in school and their social emotional awareness and well-being. The data from the survey will help our district improve the overall school experience for our students.
This annual survey is voluntary and students may decline to take any part of the survey or the whole survey. Students taking the survey will remain anonymous; however, we will gather some student information to disaggregate the data by race, gender, grade level, and school. Please feel free to review the survey questions in the links below and complete the Opt Out Form by Friday, March 7 if you choose to have your student opt out of the survey.
School Vaccinations
Now is a great time to ensure your child has all the required school vaccinations so you don't have to stress about it in the fall. Minnesota Immunization law states students attending school need to have the following vaccinations:
Kindergarten through 5th grade: 4-5 doses of DTaP, (diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis), 3-4 doses of Polio, 3 doses of Hepatitis B, 2 doses of MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) and 2 doses of varicella or date student had chicken pox.
6th grade: immunizations above as well as 1 Tdap booster, 1 meningococcal to ensure they're ready for 7th grade.
If you are unsure which vaccines your student needs, call your child's clinic or your school health office.
