Happy April! Spring is in full bloom, and our school is buzzing with excitement as we embrace new learning opportunities and prepare for the final stretch of the school year.
Upcoming Events & Important Dates
- Staff Appreciation Week: May 5th-9th (please help us celebrate our amazing GBE staff)
- School Testing: The end of April marks our annual assessments for our students. While we strive to create a stress-free testing environment, we encourage families to support their children by ensuring they get plenty of rest, eat a healthy breakfast, and arrive at school on time.
- Spring Concerts for K-2nd Grade: May 8th, please see more details below
- Welcome to Kindergarten Night: Join us on May 15th at 4:30 for our Welcome to Kindergarten night, we can’t wait to meet our Little Wolves that will be joining us next school year as Kindergarteners!
- Build a MAC-PTO Event: Join us on May 15th 5:00-6:30 ($25 to Build a mascot MAC in the gymnasium)
Reminders & Tips for a Great Month
- Attendance Matters! Please continue to make daily attendance a priority. Every school day is an opportunity for learning and growth.
- Warmer Weather Attire: As the temperatures rise, please ensure your child dresses appropriately for outdoor recess and activities.
- Healthy Snacks: We encourage sending nutritious snacks to keep our young learners energized throughout the day.
A Note on Testing
As we approach our end-of-April testing period, our goal is to provide a comfortable and positive experience for all students. These assessments help us understand progress and tailor instruction to meet each child's needs. We appreciate your support in preparing your child and reassuring them that this is just one way we measure learning.

Happy April Goose Bay Families!
I am looking forward to many more days of sunshine and warmth as we wrap up the school year! With spring weather comes breakup mud and a wet playground!! It is very helpful to send your children with extra clothes in their backpack in case of any slips in the mud on the playground or on the mileage track!
I will be out of the building from April 30th-May 16th. I have a wonderful sub nurse Kiersten Boyce filling in for me, if you have any needs during that time please don’t hesitate to contact the office or Nurse Boyce. I will be intermittently checking my email as well but any urgent needs should be directed to the Goose Bay office.

- Total household size
- Income for all household members (Income guidelines are available here)
- Student name(s)
- Additional information that is helpful, though not required, includes the student's birth date, enrolled school, and MSBSD ID number
