Dear Lake Forest High School,
Happy BEAUTIFUL Friday–or Fri-YAY! We are now well into May, prom is a week away, AP tests are almost behind us–and the buzz of end of the year activities is in the air. It is a busy (and awesome) time to be at LFHS.
At last night’s Soccer Senior Night, not only did we honor 24 of our Scouts, but we also honored Chris Chouinard, a true Scout who has coached for 50 consecutive years. 50. CONSECUTIVE. YEARS.
I wrote about Rickey Myles several weeks ago, who has given almost all of his professional life to our school community, so shaking the hand last night of another individual who has given so much of his personal life to coach, mentor, and love our school was truly overwhelming in the best possible way. Those of us from the outside moving in see the uniqueness of this community, the special things that make this a special place, and when you see the living legacy of people like Coach Chouinard, it is reaffirmed, 50 times over.
Finally, I would like to thank all of the parent organizations who supported our Teacher-Staff Appreciation Week. So many wonderful goodies and treats, and the kind words that remind us that we are making a difference and are cared about.
Wishing you a restful weekend,
Erin

Athletics
Varsity Baseball Senior Night
This past weekend, our varsity baseball team experienced a touching and memorable Senior Night. The ceremony began with a heartfelt walk, as the mother and father of each player escorted their son through a path lined by their teammates, who proudly held up Lake Forest High School flags. As they walked, the MC shared personal anecdotes and commendations for each player, echoing the sentiments of coaches and teammates . At the end of the flag-lined path, Principal Lenart greeted each player with a handshake, marking both an end and a beginning. Following this, the players received a hug from their coach, symbolizing the strong bonds formed through seasons of teamwork and dedication.
Adding to the day's festivities, the parents of our junior players generously organized and provided breakfast for the players, parents, grandparents, and friends.
Thank you to everyone who made this event possible and to the families who continue to support our students in every endeavor. It was truly an evening to remember, filled with joy, nostalgia, and a collective pride in our Lake Forest Scouts.
