🌟 Mid-Year Progress & Important Assessments
As we begin the second half of the school year, I am continually impressed by the growth and hard work of our students. This week, our teachers are conducting mid-year Acadience Benchmark Assessments in reading and math. These assessments provide valuable information about your child’s progress in these critical areas.
📬 Assessment Results Update:
- Third-grade families: Fall Ohio Achievement Assessment results for Language Arts will be mailed soon.
- Second- and fourth-grade families: Iowa and CogAT results from fall testing will also be arriving in your mailbox this month.
Please watch for these important updates and reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any questions.
💕 Valentine’s Day Celebrations & Allergy Awareness
We’re excited for Valentine’s Day classroom parties on February 14th! Your child’s teacher will share more details soon. We kindly ask families to check with teachers regarding any allergies in the class before sending treats. Keeping all of our students safe and included is our top priority. Thank you for helping us create a fun and safe celebration for everyone!
🥳 National School Counselor Appreciation Week
February 3-7 is National School Counselor Appreciation Week, and we are thrilled to celebrate our incredible school counselor, Ms. Willis! She plays a vital role in supporting our students, families, and staff with kindness and care.
Please join us in showing your appreciation by sending Ms. Willis a note, card, or email of thanks. Let’s make sure she knows how much she means to our Lincoln community!
💜Character Focus: Honesty & Kindness
This month, our school-wide character focus is on honesty and kindness. Students are learning how honesty builds trust and how small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
We’re also excited to participate in The 2025 Great Kindness Challenge and celebrate National Random Acts of Kindness Day on February 17th. Be on the lookout for a flyer coming home this week. Students can track their acts of kindness and return the flyer at the end of the month to receive a small treat and recognition. As Aesop wisely said, "No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted.”
Thank you for your continued support!

🌈 Kindness, Growth, and February Magic! 🌈
We’re excited to dive into February with YOU! The snow is still sparkling, and so is our learning! Outdoor play continues to be a blast, so remember to bundle up for warm and cozy fun. Need winter gear like hats, boots, gloves, or coats? Let us know—we’re happy to help!
💖February is Kindness Month! 💖
This month, we’re focusing on the power of kindness—small acts that make a BIG difference! In the first week of February, students will have the opportunity to participate in a special outreach program during lunch, creating heartfelt cards for LA schools affected by the wildfires. Then, in Week 2, we’ll celebrate Kindness Week, where students will take on exciting challenges to spread kindness throughout our school and community. To keep the kindness going at home, students will also receive a Great Kindness Challenge—I can't wait to see the ripple effect of their generosity and compassion! Let’s make the world a little brighter together!
📆 Attendance Matters!
Did you know that missing just two days a month can add up to nearly a whole month of lost learning by the end of the year? Every school day is a chance to grow, connect, and succeed! Here’s how you can help:
Establish a morning routine to make getting out the door easier.
Schedule appointments outside of school hours whenever possible.
If your child is struggling with attendance, let us know—we’re here to support you!
🌟What’s New in the Classroom?
We’re wrapping up our Empathy Unit and kicking off Emotional Management—teaching students how to recognize, express, and regulate their feelings. These skills help build confidence, strengthen friendships, and support overall well-being. This focus ties in perfectly with our Honesty character trait, as understanding and managing emotions allows students to communicate openly and truthfully with themselves and others. Keep the conversation going at home by asking, “What’s one strategy you used to manage your emotions today?” Small conversations can lead to big growth!
