Exceptions:

*In case of emergencies or extenuating circumstances, such as inclement weather or changes to after-school activities, students may request permission from the teacher to use their cell phone.

*Personal Electronic Devices may be used if needed for coursework and if clearly outlined in the lesson plan.

*Students with medical or learning needs may use personal electronic devices in accordance with IEPs or 504 plans.

Please note that this policy will be enforced beginning Monday, August 19, 2024 but is subject to change pending board approval on September 9th. The full policy can be found here.

Please be sure that your child wears sneakers on days that he or she has PE. It is very important for their safety and for them to be able to participate fully. Please no Crocs, flip flops, sandals, or boots on PE days. Thank you!

The Annual Emergency Information Update must be completed each school year. It is very important for us to have up-to-date contact information for each child. Thank you for your prompt attention to this information!

If you would like to volunteer and/or be a considered to possibly be a field trip chaperone, you must complete a background check through Berkeley County Schools. Please click here to begin this process. A handout was also given at Orientation. If you are interested in being considered to be a chaperone, this handout must be completed and returned to your child's teacher. Thanks!

Remember, an adult must be at the bus stop for all Rosemont Elementary Students (and all primary-aged children,) or the child will not be dropped off. Parents or guardians of primary-aged children are legally required at the bus stop for pick up as well.

Once you find your bus route and number, please consider making a bus tag with the bus number for your child's backpack or neck for the first day of school.

Rosemont is a CEP (Community Eligibility Provision) school and breakfast and lunch is free to all our students. Even though we are a CEP school, it is important for you to complete the Meal Benefits Application for the 2024-2025 school year to possibly qualify for other benefits that may become available for you and your family.

All students entering 2nd Grade in Fall 2024 should have...

• Health Check / Physical Exam (completed within the prior 12 calendar months)
• Dental Exam (completed within the prior 12 calendar months)

Turn in the documentation of the Health Check and Dental Exam to your child’s school prior to the first day of school for students in August 2024. These forms may be brought with you to Orientation. Not having these documents will not prevent enrollment.
