Google Meet: End for All and Custom Backgrounds
Even more updates from Google Meet!
Last week, I shared that meeting hosts now have the option to mute all participants (and still to come, the ability to prevent participants from unmuting). This week, I have two additional updates that you will hopefully enjoy.
- End for All: Now when you leave a meeting that you created, you have the option to just leave the meeting or to end the meeting for everyone. This means that everyone in the meeting will also be removed. This makes it easy to end meetings without worrying about students hanging around after the fact (remember to turn off "Quick Access" before leaving).
- Custom Background: In Meet, you can also now upload your own custom background. On Friday, I turned this on for all FCS teachers (currently not available for students), so if you have a favorite place that you want to use, it's easy to pretend that you're there! In my background, I am at Anna Maria Island, which is one of my absolute favorite places!.
Copy/ Paste Notice in GoFormative
A recent update is that now when students copy and paste their answer from somewhere else, it tells you exactly which parts were copy/pasted. For me, this is even more helpful because some students might just copy and accented character since they don't know how to use the International Keyboard while others might say that is what they did when they really copied the entire answer from Google Translate. Check it out below!
