Spring 2024
Welcome to the 2024 Spring GMA Quest Clubs Program.
It is my great privilege to present you with a variety of club options that provide enrichment for our students as we continue to develop the mind, body, and spirit of our students. It is with great pride to share the deep passions and all of the wonderful talents of the faculty, staff, and close friends of GMA that have developed these programs to share with our children.
Quest Club offerings for the Spring of 2024 are listed below. Please be sure to click the link at the bottom of this newsletter to register. Registration is due by 11:59 PM Thursday, 2/29. Students will not be able to participate in clubs until all registration is completed and full payment is submitted. All clubs are on a first come first served basis and space is limited.
Quest Clubs run on the dates listed in the offerings descriptions. Clubs run from 3:30-4:30. Pickup will take place on the green top. Students that are pre-registered may be dismissed to CARES.
Parents arriving late for pickup will have to pick their child up from CARES and will be responsible for the CARES registration fee. Please be mindful of our instructors and their time by being on time. Please direct any specific questions to the instructors offering the courses.

Springtime Creations: Exploring Art and Nature With Mermaid Art Studio: Grades K-8
Join us for an exciting 5-week after-school art class designed to awaken creativity and explore the wonders of spring! Each week, children will embark on a new artistic journey, learning various techniques and mediums inspired by the season.
Week 1: Chia Head Creations In the first class, young artists will mold their very own chia heads out of clay, shaping them into whimsical characters or self-portraits. They will learn basic clay sculpting techniques while embracing their imagination. These clay creations will serve as the canvas for the upcoming weeks' activities.
Week 2: Growing Hair and Planting Seeds It's time to watch our creations come to life! Children will plant seeds on the chia heads, creating lush green hair as the seeds sprout and grow throughout the week. This activity not only teaches patience and responsibility but also connects the children with the natural cycle of growth.
Weeks 3-4: Portrait with Plant Life In these two weeks, young artists will delve into the world of portraiture. Using the chia heads as models, they will learn shading and toning techniques to create depth and dimension in their portraits. Additionally, they will incorporate elements of springtime plant life into their compositions, learning about different types of plants and their significance in the ecosystem.
Week 5: Exploring Watercolor and Seasonal Color In the final two weeks, children will explore the vibrant world of watercolor painting. They will learn about color theory and how colors change throughout the year, reflecting the changing seasons. Through various exercises and projects, they will experiment with mixing colors to capture the essence of springtime in their artwork.
Throughout the 5 weeks, children will not only develop their artistic skills but also cultivate an appreciation for nature and the beauty of the spring season. Join us for an unforgettable journey of creativity, growth, and exploration!
