Happy Sunday Fruzen Community,
As the school year winds down, it’s hard to believe we’re just three weeks away from summer break! This time of year is always filled with mixed emotions—excitement, reflection, and anticipation for what’s next. We are in the midst of welcoming our incoming 5th grade students as they tour our school and begin their transition into a new chapter. These visits help our future students get comfortable with their new environment, meet some of their teachers, and start building a sense of belonging in our school community. At the same time, we’re preparing to say goodbye to our incredible 8th graders. We are proud of all they have accomplished and look forward to seeing all they will achieve in high school and beyond. We will be celebrating their journey with heartfelt send-offs and best wishes for the future. Even as we approach the end of the year, our commitment to teaching and learning remains strong. We encourage students to stay engaged, curious, and motivated right up to the final bell. Every day counts, and there’s still so much to discover and achieve!
Final call for yearbooks - Students and families still have an opportunity to order a yearbook. Please reach out to Ms. Lingle at llingle@sdb.k12.wi.us if you would still like to order one.
SkyCarp Baseball Game - Fruzen Middle School is participating in a 4 week SkyCarp reading program. We have one week remaining. Students are encouraged to track the number of minutes they read each week and report that number to their advisory teacher. Each advisory has a poster that records the minutes each student reads each week. At the end of the 4 week program, advisories can compare who read the most. The most exciting part? ALL students and staff will receive a FREE ticket to the SkyCarp baseball game on the last day of school, Friday, June 6th at 6:00 PM. Student and staff family members and friends will also be able to buy game tickets at a discounted price. Let's see how many students, staff, and families we can get out to the ballpark on June 6th to celebrate the last day of school!
Warm regards,
Ryan Stengl
Principal
Help Us Learn More About Resources for Families with Young Children
Thrive by 5 is a coalition of local organizations working together to support families with children ages five and under. Their mission is to build a strong foundation for our youngest learners by connecting families to resources and support across Rock County.
As part of this effort, Thrive by 5 is conducting a brief survey for parents and caregivers of children under age five. The goal is to better understand how families access services in our community. A separate survey is also available for staff who work directly with families of young children.
Surveys can be completed online or by paper.
Deadline to participate is Friday, June 6, 2025.
Flyers and surveys are available in the school office.
Your input is valuable! Please take a few minutes to complete a survey or share it with someone who might be interested.
Thank you for helping us strengthen support for families in our community!
Beloit Cares
The Beloit Cares Back2School Bash will be held on Saturday, August 16 and is open to all families in Beloit and children in foster care in Rock County! Registration is now open.
It’s an opportunity for families to get school supplies. We will have local agencies on hand to provide resources to families . We attach a five dollar price tag to the backpacks filled with new school supplies and see it as a hand up and not a handout.
Families need to pre-register and pay. This year we plan to have 500 backpacks on hand.

News from the Library
It's that time of the year again! Time to return ALL library books! The last day of checkout is May 16th. Please encourage your students to make sure they are being responsible for items they've checked out. Books that are not returned by the last day of school will be charged (at least) $5.00 each. If you would like to know what your student is missing, please reach out to me and I'll let you know!
CHROMEBOOKS AND CHARGERS
I will begin to collect chromebooks and chargers from students on Friday, May 30th. Please be sure that your student has their technology to turn in. If your student cannot find or has lost theirs, there will be a charge added to Skyward for $289.00 for chromebooks and $25.00 for chargers. Students know that they are responsible for the technology checked out to them.
If there are any questions, please feel free to email me at Rfrerichs@sdb.k12.wi.us. Thank you for your cooperation and have a great summer!

From Our Nursing Staff
Dear Parents/Guardians,
As the school year comes to a close, we would like to remind you that all student medications (including prescription and over-the-counter) must be picked up from the school health office by June 6th, 2025, the last day of school.
According to school policy, medications cannot be sent home with students and must be collected by a parent or guardian. If you have an 8th grade student going to the high school next year, it’s in your best interest to pick up all medications as high school level students may self-carry over-the-counter medications.
Please contact the school nurse if you need to arrange a specific time for pick-up or if you have questions.
Thank You!
Nurse Pahli Thao
