We are so excited to have everyone back this week and we appreciate the patience of our DCPR Families and students in the delay in returning due to unforeseeable school closures.
We will wrap up our final week of January with a focus on NWEA Testing and Parent University. All scholars are expected to be in full uniform and arrive to school no later than 8:05 am daily. Scholars may enter the Gym door to receive breakfast up to 8:10am.

REQUIRED IMMUNIZATION DEADLINE FRIDAY, JANUARY 31ST
According to the State of Michigan law, every student is required to have an up-to-date certificate of immunization or waiver on file at the time of registration for entry into Kindergarten, 7th grade, or for enrollment into a new school district.
DCPR is required to report immunization information to the State of Michigan. Any student who fails to meet the immunization requirements shall not be admitted or participate in school classes.
We urge you to submit your scholars most current and complete immunization record no later than Friday, January 31st. For more information, please contact The Wayne County Health Department at 734-727-7100 or to obtain a non-medical immunization waiver for your scholar, please contact 734-727-7125.
🔅SUMMER ADVANTAGE🔅
We are now accepting Summer Advantage Applications in the Main Office.
Summer Advantage offers rigorous, research-based academic instruction in the morning and a wide variety of hands-on enrichment classes in the afternoon. Our scholars receive two healthy meals a day, daily recreation, and an exciting environment where they can flourish academically and build confidence as leaders. In addition, scholars participate in field trips every Friday that consist of fun educational experiences, college campus visits, and scholar-led community service projects. Through innovating the learning experience, scholars gain confidence that supports their success when they return to school in the fall.

IT'S TIME FOR BOY'S BASKETBALL
The Boy's Basketball season has started at Redford! Join the DCPR Lions for their first game of the season on Saturday, February 1st, at 1:45pm. This game will be held at University Prep Art & Design located at 485 Milwaukee Ave, Detroit, MI 48202 against MACDOWELL. Please be advise that entry fees and times may vary. For the first time in five years, the Detroit Housing Commission has opened its housing voucher waitlist. Low-income families in the metro area have just until Wednesday, Feb. 5, to fill out the brief application for the federal housing assistance program, often known as Section 8, that subsidizes rents based on income. Little Hoopers 2025 Winter Sessions are here! This is the perfect opportunity for your kids to get active, learn basketball fundamentals, and have fun in a positive and supportive environment.
We’re hosting sessions at two locations:
• Most Holy Trinity: sessions run on Mondays (February 24th – March 24th) or Wednesdays (February 26th – March 26th). Kids ages 4-6 meet from 5:30pm to 6:30pm, and ages 7-8 meet from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.
• Elmwood Park Church sessions are held on Tuesdays (February 25th – March 25th) or Thursdays (February 27th – March 27th). Ages 4-6 meet from 5:00pm to 6:00pm, and ages 7-8 meet from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.
