Principal Message
Dear Skyline Families,
As we enter the month of November, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for your ongoing support and commitment to our school community. With the holiday season approaching, it’s a great time to reflect on the importance of partnership between home and school in fostering the success and well-being of our students.
In the coming weeks, we’ll be focusing on gratitude and giving back. Our classrooms will explore ways to express appreciation and cultivate kindness in their daily interactions. I encourage you to have these conversations at home as well—our students thrive when they see the values we promote in school mirrored in their everyday lives.
Thank you for your participation in parent-teacher conferences. We hope the time spent with your child's teacher provided you a valuable opportunity to check in on your child’s progress and discuss ways we can work together to support their learning goals. Your continued involvement is crucial, and we always look forward to partnering with you to help your child succeed.
Thank you for being an essential part of the Skyline community. I wish you all a wonderful November filled with gratitude and joy.
Warm regards,
Erik A. Olson

Building Community
Honoring our Veterans
This Veterans Day, we pause to recognize the incredible sacrifices made by our nation’s veterans. At Skyline Elementary, we honor those who have served and continue to serve our country, protecting our freedoms and inspiring us all with their courage and dedication.
We encourage our students to take this time to learn more about the contributions of our veterans and reflect on the importance of service. Please join us in expressing our gratitude to the veterans in our community and across the nation.
While we are having a Veteran's Day assembly we are reserving this assembly time for veterans and current armed service men and women.
Thank you for your service!
Skyline Food Drive
Our amazing Student Lighthouse Team has organized a food drive for our school. Our student team has set a goal to bring in 1,200 non-perishable food items that will be donated to the Mead Food Bank.
Grade levels will have a friendly competition to see which grade level brings in the most items.
Let's all work together to help those in need and reach our goal!
Habit #2: Begin with the End in Mind
I plan ahead and set goals. I do things that have meaning and make a difference. I am an important part of my classroom. I contribute to my school's mission and vision.

1. Use critical thinking to organize information.
2. Develop intrapersonal skills of self-confidence and self-management.
3. Use creative thinking to solve problems.
4. Develop the ability to set goals and follow through.
5. Develop strong oral and written communication skills.

Tree of sharing
It's that time of year again! As the weather turns colder, it's time to start thinking about the Holidays and taking care of others in need. Our Tree of Sharing will begin November 14th. If you are able to help a family in need this Holiday season, please take a tag off the tree, record the tag number on the sign up sheet in the office and return the wrapped gift by Monday December 16th.
This is a great way to teach your child how to help others in need. Teaching children to give back to their community helps foster a sense of empathy, gratitude and understanding that not all families have the same access to food, clothing and shelter.
Thank you for your generous giving to our families and community.
Your counselor,
Debbie Cox
