POINTS FROM THE PRINCIPAL
- Grade 1 & 2 Progress Reports:
- Report Card/Progress Reports for first and second grade students in Mrs. Amiel and Ms. Ciccarelli's classes will be available on Friday at 4:00pm. I will send an e-blast at that time with directions on how to access the documents. If you have any problems accessing, you must email problem@summit.k12.nj.us in order for the technology team to assist you. Mrs. Englese, Mr. Kozak, Mrs. Amiel, or Ms. Ciccarelli will not be able to assist you in accessing the Parent Portal.
- School Photo Retakes-BNL Photography will return to the Primary Centers on January 7th. See the flyer below that BNL just sent us.
- Update your Emergency Contacts: All families should have emergency contacts (other than one or both parents/guardians). This is helpful in case of a family emergency, early school closings, etc. Here are the directions to adding or updating contact in our Parent Portal: Updating Contacts in Genesis
Dress for the Weather: Please be sure your child(ren) come(s) to school dressed appropriately for the weather. Layers are always helpful, so as to provide students the opportunity to change as necessary. We go out as much as possible. Please, please, please label all items with names!

Dues: We only need FOUR more families to contribute to our PTO dues to hit our 50% goal. Please consider donating $5 to help the kids earn a pajama day!
Holiday Class Gifts: Please remember to contribute to your child’s class gift as a way to say thank you to our wonderful teachers! Please feel free to contribute an individual gift as well.

AROUND THE CLASSROOMS
- I observed students...
- singing in unison with their families at the Sing-A-Long
- comparing the plot and ending of various versions of the Gingerbread Man stories
- counting and writing teen numbers
- decomposing teen numbers (i.e. 15 is 10 plus 5 more)
- Mrs. McArdle's Class: In a cross-curricular lesson with Mrs. Williams, our library/media specialist, students learned about Polar bears and created a polar bear craft. See photos below.
