Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR)
Next week we will have IAR testing in grades 3-5. Classroom teachers have communicated specific schedules to their families. We want to set our students up for success. Please be sure your child is well rested and eats a good breakfast. We also ask that parents avoid scheduling appointments during the school day. Thank you for your support!
Pack the Piggies to Benefit the D25 Council of PTAs Scholarship Fund
We are excited to announce that our Pack the Piggies event was a tremendous success! Westgate Wolverines raised the highest amount of any school with a grand total of $1,577.97. A huge THANK YOU to all our families who donated their spare change for this great cause and to the Westgate Student Leadership Team for organizing the event. We will hold an all-school BINGO game later this spring as a celebration of this achievement!
Lunches from Restaurants
Although we do not prohibit parents from bringing lunches from restaurants for their children, we do ask parents to refrain from bringing lunches and drinks for groups of students. This practice can cause other students to feel excluded. Thank you for your help in building a positive lunch environment for everyone!
Parents Approaching the Fence During Recess
We ask that parents/guardians not approach the fence or students on the playground when students are outside at recess. All parents/visitors should to go directly to the office. Westgate staff will then contact teachers to have students meet their parents in the office. We appreciate your help with ensuring a safe school environment!
5Essentials Survey
5Essentials Survey | Click here to take it
We need to have 20% of our families complete the survey for the results to be reported. Currently 10 % of our families have take the survey. If you have not already, please take a few minutes to complete the 5Essentials Survey. Your participation in the parent portion of the survey will help us understand the conditions at our school and guide improvement.
