The mission of George Bannerman Dealey is to provide an exemplary education that develops and empowers all students to become productive citizens in our global society.
Breathing Fires of Excellence!
Greetings Dealey Community!
We have officially made it to the beginning of a new and wonderful school year. Last year we were "Soaring to New Horizons" and we superseded our goals. We saw increased academic success, improved culture/climate, and we earned two new regional awards. This year we are Leveling Up by Breathing Fires of Excellence. Historically, a refiner's fire has been used to purify gold and silver. This year, every Dealey dragon is committed to breathing a refining fire into every aspect of our community.
This level of excellence will require us all to continue to collaborate not only within our community, but outside as well. This summer, our montessori teachers Ms. Thompson and Ms. Elser-Smith worked with other Dallas ISD montessori teachers to build our new Montessori/Tier 1 Instructional Planning Calendars. We are all excited about continually increasing Dealey's positive presence in the district community.

Spring 2024 Letter
Dear Families,
Over the next few weeks, we will begin the process of assigning students to an appropriate class for next year. The Dealey staff spends much time and effort on this placement process. In putting together class lists for next year, we will consider many factors including research-based grouping strategies. We utilize the classroom teacher’s knowledge of every student, and in addition, our academic support teachers (504, ESOL, SPED), specialists, counselors and administrators provide input and review the proposed class lists.
Given the complexity of placing all students, we will NOT consider the following requests:
· Requests for a specific teacher.
· Requests that specific students be placed with your child.
· Requests NOT to have a specific teacher, unless you have had another child with that teacher in the past.
Your child’s classroom teacher will be sent out to you by July 28th.
Please understand that once homeroom teachers are assigned and students are placed, the lists are final. Moving even one child from a class can upset the balance of a classroom or interfere with scheduling.
Students approach the new school year in a positive light when we encourage them to be excited about making new friends and getting to know a new teacher.
We will not conduct individual conferences with the administration or counselors regarding placement.
If you need to file a placement complaint, you will be required to go through the formal Dallas ISD Appeal process. You will have only 10 business days after receipt of placement to file your formal appeal to the campus principal.
Again, each Dealey student will be hand placed with great care. Each student’s emotional well-being and academic success is our priority!
Sincerely,
Dealey Placement Committees
