BATTLE OF THE BOOKS SUCCESS! ππ
Third & Fourth Grade Team
The 3/4 team competed alongside 14 other teams from across the state, finishing somewhere in the middle. The team gave a great effort, enjoyed book discussion and reading new titles all year long and finished off the season with a cone from Sweet Peaks. Miles Morso(4th), Ida Johansson (4th), Grace Davidson (3rd) were the battlers for the 2025 season and T.J. Hatch was also selected to compete but was unable to make it to the competition but his effort and enthusiasm all year were present with his fellow teammates on this day!
Fifth & Sixth Grade Team
The fifth/sixth grade team had a great season with nine participants reading 12 grade level titles. Our battlers narrowly edged out other teammates who were present at the Battle to offer support. Juliet Mikael, William Manson, Gracelynn Baez, and Cameron Crews (all fifth grade) competed very well, finishing in a tie for second place out of 19 total competing schools. This is a really excellent place and coach Katy Cannon is immensely proud of this competing team and the work and dedication of the entire Battleteam this year. They met for months, practicing during their lunchtime and grew together as a team. The teamwork really paid off in the Battle placement. We look forward to Alberton's growth in this excellent program.
