MES Thanks Our Veterans and First Responders!
Community Commitment Great Job - Ignoring Distractions and no Eruptions
The following classes have earned extra recess for meeting the community commitment:
Homerooms
Repenning
Dotson
Donley
Cable
Bainter
From Specials
Simpkin (Music)
Roach (P.E.)
Dotson (Art)
They have done a great job staying attentive when the teacher is speaking. To continue the conversation, ask them how it helps their class stay safe and learn.
This incentive will continue into next week as we secretly and randomly check on how classes are doing.
Magnificent Mustangs
Ezra has been a very supportive classmate during recess kickball. He helps his friends understand the rules and encourages good sportsmanship among his peers! This demonstrates amazing leadership and sets a positive example for others to follow appropriate sports expectations at recess.
Joanne requested to borrow Mr. Woodland's EZ Reacher to pick up trash that had blown out of the trash cans. This helps to keep our playground clean and fun to play on by all of the students.
Isabella was observed picking up handfuls of trash on the playground. Doing this helps to keep our playground clean and enjoyable to play on by her fellow peers.
Ethan displayed consideration and helpfulness. Ethan found himself in line for the bus behind a 2nd grader on crutches. As he noticed her hesitation, he acted as soon as he saw how he could assist her. Despite the fact that both her teacher and bus driver were on hand, he gently took hold of her crutches and held on to them as the bus driver helped the 2nd grader up the steps. He then passed the crutches to the bus driver when she was free to take them and then entered the bus himself without missing a beat. It was so natural, as if he had done is several times before.

Picture Retake Information
Parents of students participating on Retake Day November 14th should be aware of the following:
If a student was absent on the initial picture day, their name will appear on the unphotographed list so that we are aware that they need to have their picture taken for the yearbook.
If a parent has expressed interest in having their child’s picture retaken, this can also be done on retake day. The student should bring the original photo package, including the original envelope and all picture products, to turn into the photographer when they come to sit for a new picture. They do not need to fill out a new order form.
