Principal's Message:
Greetings Forest Park Students and Families,
Congratulations Francis, Yusuf, Nolan, Rhett, The Nuclear Brains! The Nuclear Brains just won regionals and are heading to State! Way to represent FPE! We are proud of each of you! Thank you Carynne Drake for working with all OBOB contestants and facilitating an enriching experience. Thank you families for the many ways you support FPE! Our auction gala was a success with fun had by all. Today's early release was preceeded by a Fox Assembly. Families are always invited to Fox Assemblies on Early Release Wednesdays. Teachers notify, by grade level, when you can expect your student to take a participatory role in these assemblies. I hope everyone enjoys spring break next week!
Auction Gala: Our Spring Gala, the highlight of our fundraising efforts, took place at “The Nines” last Saturday evening. It was an unforgettable night filled with excitement! Once the silent auction closes on Sunday, tallying of funds donated will be made, followed by an announcement of what we raised at this fun, wonderful, incredible event. All proceeds will directly benefit our school! If you weren’t able to attend, don’t worry—there’s still a chance to be part of the action! Click here to view the LIVE AUCTION items, which include classroom parties, parent gatherings, beauty products, gift cards, and much more!
Spring Break: We wish all of our families a restful and refreshing spring break next week, from 3/24 to 3/28. Whether you're relaxing at home or enjoying a getaway in the sun or snow, we look forward to seeing you back on Monday, 3/31! If your student will not be returning to school on 3/31, please be sure to notify us by emailing ForestparkAttend@pps.net or calling the Attendance Line (available 24/7) (503)916-5400. Be sure to include your child's name, teacher's name, the date of absence, and the reason for the absence.
Blood Drive Update: Thank you Dave Genel (3rd grader Jacqueline's father) for organizing a successful blood drive. According to reports "...it looks like we saved 39 lives (with 13 donors) today (03/12) at FPE.
FPE Yearbook: the FPE yearbook is on sale starting now! Please follow this link to purchase a yearbook. Families, a feature allows you to customize pages!
Science Fair: judging criteria for Science Fair (please look at this space for a future Sign-Up opportunity to help judge entries):
successful use of the scientific method
clarity of poster/presentation
clarity/quality of student "interview" (that night)
student passion
use of evidence
Please remind your students to turn in their completed Science Fair forms to the office before Friday 3/21. If you need a new paper copy of the form or instructions, please have your student come to the office during their recess times. Our Science Fair will take place on Thursday 4/24 in the GYM.
Lost & Found: Last chance to check through Lost & Found this week! All unclaimed items will be donated to the PPS Clothing Closet over spring break. Please consider volunteering to launder remaining items. A huge thank you to Vicki Sears and Dia Wirsing for helping us to freshly launder clothing for donation to families in need in our PPS community.
PPS Clothing Closet needs your help 4/14: for a few hours on Monday, 4/14 from 9.30am to 1.30pm. Details in sign-up.
Connect to Kinder: Our first C2K event was held online last Thursday, 3/13. Be sure to watch for upcoming Connect to Kinder dates! The next in-person event will take place on April 18th from 3:00 to 3:45 PM. It will feature a full campus tour and an opportunity to meet Principal Dr. Martini, along with our Kindergarten teachers, Ms. Werschkul and Ms. Hildebrant.
