Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year!
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! At Brantner, we value being a PAWSitive community of learners! We know together we can do anything! We are so excited to start a new school year with you and your family!
Our Values:
At Brantner we show/live our values through PAWS.
Positive Community - We work together and have integrity in our work.
Always Believe - We believe in ourselves and each other.
Wonder - We have a growth mindset and live the Thinking Classroom.
Safety - We work to stay safe in and out of the classroom.
How can you help?
Read with your child. Reading with your child helps to build language, vocabulary and thinking skills. Make it a goal to read to your child 20 minutes per night. Even if your child can read at grade level, select a book above grade level and read to them. It’s also a great way to stay connected with your children as they grow up.
Partner with your child’s teacher.
Get involved! Join PTA. Volunteer in class or school events. We need great parents who want to make a difference!
Want to make a difference in your community? Be a substitute teacher! You’ve never taught before and are worried about what subbing would look like? We can help answer questions. https://www.sd27j.org/departments/human-resources/substitutes
Our Work at Brantner:
Last year we implemented Standards Based Reporting. To continue this work, we are focusing on how we collect and use data in our classrooms to support student growth.
How we create plans focused on the evidence of student learning.
How we use that evidence to support instruction towards a student's needs.
How we empower our students to have ownership of their learning.
Can I know more? Yes, teachers will report out on grade level standards through our Standards Based Progress Reports. We have parent/teacher connections in October and again in March. At any time you can connect with your teacher regarding your students' performance towards grade level.
We value our partnership and look forward to another great year of learning and growing! Our staff is excited to see you soon! August 7th, 5:00-7:00 pm for our back to school night! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to myself or any member of the office staff.

NEW PARKING LOT PROCEDURES
Parking Lot: Please read through our NEW pick up/drop off procedures. Safety is everyone’s responsibility. Please review the map and seek assistance if needed.
What’s New:
Increased presence of cones that delineate the parking lot flow, please do not move them.
Students will be identified with color ID tags on their backpacks based on how they will be getting home at the end of each day. Each car will have a pick up tag to display in their window.
There will be increased staff presence to help this go smoothly and safely.
Drop off
There will be 1 “Hug and Go” lane open for drop off on the school side curb.
Please pull all the way forward to the drop off zone.
If you are wanting to watch your student enter the building, please park and walk your student to the door.
Students may enter the building through door 1, 2 or the west door.
If you arrive after 7:50, please park and walk your student into the front of the building, the hug and go lane will be closed.
Pick Up
There will be 2 lanes for pick up. Please use both lanes and come to a complete stop.
If you want to meet your student to pick them up at the school, please park and walk up to the front doors (Door 1) and wait in the designated area.
We will facilitate a controlled pick up system where students will load the cars before being able to pull out into the drive thru lane.
Please pull all the way forward to the west end of the building in order to have as many cars as possible for picking up students. This is especially important if you arrive early to school.
