Senior College Conferences

Virtual and In-Person Senior Conferences are well underway and will continue through the fall! Appointment bookings are made through the Parent Square Portal. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s counselor via email.

Do you have questions about the college application process? Specific questions about the Common App, UC, or CSU applications and deadlines? Help is here! The LAHS Counseling team will be available every Tuesday and Thursday this month in room 819, during lunch, 6th period, and after school to help you. The specific dates are November 9, 16, 18, and 30. No need to register or make an appointment; stop by for help!

Reminder from the Attendance Office

Illness/COVID Symptoms:

1. If your student is experiencing 1 low risk-symptom (e.g. stomach ache, sore throat, headache, congestion) they may return to school only after the symptom is resolved for 24 hours.

2. If your student is experiencing 2 or more low-risk symptoms or 1 high-risk symptom (e.g. cough, loss of taste, loss of smell, difficulty breathing), you must provide a negative COVID test result or medical clearance from a health care provider in order to return to school.

3. At-home COVID test kit results are not accepted. The test must be a PCR or Antigen test that is processed through a lab.

4. If your student tests positive for COVID over the Thanksgiving break, this must be reported as soon as possible to our school nurse, Cassandra Palacios. Email: cpalacios@losal.org

Bringing a Mask to School

Parents/Guardians: An increasing number of students are not bringing a mask with them to school. In fact, it is becoming difficult to keep up with the demand as we are handing out hundreds of them per day. Please help us reduce this number by providing your student with a mask when they leave home in the morning.

Bike and Skateboard Rack

Please tell your student(s) to lock up their bikes and skateboards in the bike/skateboard rack when they arrive to school in the morning. We are finding several each day that are not locked up.

Also, they should always remember to take their bikes/skateboards with them at the end of the day, especially Friday, as they are being left overnight and on weekends.
